  • Publication number: 20250122978
Abstract: A method and apparatus for storing a cryogenic material, such as liquid hydrogen is described. The apparatus includes a liquid hydrogen storage container with a structural support system that enables frequent loading and unloading of the structural support system. The structural support system enables loading and unloading without permanent deformation or fatigue of the structural support system. The structural support system includes a plurality of support members which are oriented at an angle tangent to a portion of an inner shell, which forms a cavity holding the cryogenic material. The portion of the inner shell which the support member is tangent to is the portion of the inner shell closest to an end of the support member.

  • Patent number: 12196373
Abstract: A cryogenic vessel includes an outer vessel at least partially formed from a reinforced concrete. The cryogenic vessel further includes an inner vessel disposed in the outer vessel. The cryogenic vessel further includes an airtight liner disposed between the inner vessel and the outer vessel, wherein the liner is anchored to the outer vessel. The cryogenic vessel further includes a vacuum space disposed between the inner vessel and the liner, wherein an insulation material is disposed in the vacuum space.

  • Patent number: 11898703
Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure generally relate to an apparatus for large-scale external pressure storage, and more particularly for large-scale storage of liquid hydrogen and other products that require evacuated insulation. In some examples, a plate for a storage apparatus is provided. The plate a body that includes a beveled joint with the body having a nominal thickness at the beveled joint. The beveled joint is configured to be welded to a corresponding beveled joint of an adjacent plate.
