  • Patent number: 11018799
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a receiver wireless device receives, from a transmitter wireless device, a wireless signal comprising a plurality of modulated symbols forming at least one packet, determines a quantification of impairments associated with the plurality of modulated symbols of the wireless signal, the impairments caused by the receiver wireless device, the transmitter wireless device, or both, determines a remembrance factor based on the quantification of the impairments, and demodulates the plurality of modulated symbols of the wireless signal based on a number of previously demodulated symbols, wherein the number of previously demodulated symbols is based on the remembrance factor.

  • Patent number: 10735229
Abstract: In general, techniques are described for limiters used in wireless transmitters. A transmitter comprising a frontend circuit and a backend circuit may perform various aspects of the limiter techniques. The frontend circuit may obtain a data symbol of a plurality of data symbols representative of data to be transmitted wirelessly, and determine an amplitude and a phase representative of the data symbol. The frontend circuit may also transform the phase to a frequency, compare the frequency to a threshold frequency, and adjust, based on the comparison of the frequency to the threshold frequency, the frequency to obtain an adjusted frequency. The backend circuit configured may obtain, based on the amplitude and the adjusted frequency, a wireless signal, and transmit the wireless signal.

  • Publication number: 20050157813
Abstract: The digital predistorter multiplies the input signal with coefficients obtained from look-up tables. To reduce the amount of storage required, the coefficients are stored in partial form and are either reconstituted by addition of a constant (44, FIG. 3b) prior to application to the input signal or the retrieved coefficients are applied directly to the input signal and the resulting modified signal is then combined with the original input signal (34, FIG. 2a).

  • Publication number: 20050036650
Abstract: The control scheme uses the input and output signals of an amplifier (10) to control a lineariser (24) operating on the amplifier (10). The input and output signals are sensed and used to develop assay signals that have ideal inter-relationships when the amplifier is operating as desired. The control scheme modifies the operation of the lineariser to account for any departures observed in the relationships.

  • Publication number: 20040169557
Abstract: Where a DSP is used to predistort the input to a radio frequency power amplifier (RF PA) in the digital domain, then the DSP can also be used to perform a mathematical clipping operation on the input signal. This means that unwanted distortion is not introduced via the clipping process.
