  • Publication number: 20220211945
Abstract: An automatic injection device is provided, where the device includes a syringe carrier and a retraction assembly. The syringe carrier may include two identical parts that are discrete from one another and interlock with one another. Carrier includes a cushion to support the syringe. Protrusions may be provided on cushion to further support syringe. The retraction assembly includes a shuttle and a follower, the follower having a moveable latch. The follower has a coupled configuration in which the latch is biasedly coupled to the shuttle, and a decoupled configuration in which the latch is in sliding engagement with a curvilinear surface of the shuttle.

  • Patent number: 11065386
Abstract: An automatic medication injection device that provides a user with audible notice of injecting progress. The device in one form includes a plurality of sound elements located on drive mechanism portion that inserts within a barrel of a container of medication to advance a sealing plunger of that container. The device also includes at least one actuating element movable axially with the container of medication within the device housing, which at least one actuating is element arranged to engage the plurality of sound elements to generate audible notices as the advancing portion moves past the at least one actuating element when advancing the sealing plunger for an injection.

  • Patent number: 10363377
Abstract: A puller assembly for removing a shield from around a needle of a syringe. The puller assembly includes a grip component and a cap. The grip component has a tubular body defining an interior hollow which axially receives the shield. The tubular body has a slit that allows it to be forcibly shifted from a first arrangement to a second arrangement to change the size of the interior hollow. The tubular body includes a radial inner face with at least one radial inward projection for directly engaging the shield. The cap is grippable by a user. The grip component is held by the cap when inserted within a cavity of the cap during manufacturing installation, and when so held at least one radial inward projection of the grip component engages the shield for removal of the shield from around the needle when the cap is moved. A method of mounting a puller assembly to a shield around a needle is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20190167909
Abstract: A medication injector apparatus such as an injection pen. The injection pen includes a resettable, cartridge plunger drive assembly including an axially floating nut, a cartridge plunger engaging screw, and a drive clutch movable with the nut and which when rotated causes the screw to screw through the nut. When a cartridge assembly is mounted to the pen base, the floating nut and drive clutch are shifted proximally such that the drive clutch is in torque transmitting engagement with a rotatable drive member of the pen, such that rotation of that drive member results in drive screw advancement through the nut in the distal direction. When the cartridge assembly is not mounted to the pen base, the floating nut and drive clutch are biased distally to disengage the drive clutch from torque transmitting engagement with the rotatable drive member and to thereby allow the drive screw to be reset proximally through the nut to a position more retracted within the pen base.
