  • Patent number: 9787939
Abstract: Video conferencing is performed using near-end and far-end devices at near-end and far-end sites, respectively. Each device has a display surface and a video camera. The view of the far-end scene displayed by the near-end device is selected as a function of the position of the near-end user relative to the near-end device. As the near-end user moves toward the left, the view pans toward the right of the far-end scene. As the near-end user moves toward the right, the view pans toward the left of the far-end scene.

  • Patent number: 7535964
Abstract: Self-clocked two-level differential signaling methods and apparatus assuring both clock synchronization and ease of recovery of transmitted data. In accordance with the method, the data is encoded differentially on a differential signal that changes polarity at the end of each bit time. This allows clock recovery at the receiver simply by detection of the polarity change. The data is encoded, bit by bit, as exceeding a predetermined magnitude for a bit of a given state and as not exceeding the predetermined magnitude for the opposite state. Consequently data recovery is by way of a simple signal magnitude detection during a bit time, such as by a detection of signal magnitude a predetermined time. The apparatus does not require a phase locked loop in the receiver, thereby saving power and time to obtain synchronization. The method is conducive to varying bit time or duration, thereby reducing the peaks in the EMI radiation.

  • Publication number: 20070234626
Abstract: Systems and methods usable to facilitate adjustments to a sighting device, such as a scope. In one example, an adjustment calculator associated with the scope receives data relating to a distance to a target and relating to at least one environmental variable, such as for example, wind and/or humidity, which may affect the trajectory of a projectile. The adjustment calculator processes the data and calculates a recommended scope adjustment. For instance, the adjustment calculator may output a number of adjustment “clicks” for a rifle scope in order to at least partially compensate for the distance and/or the environmental variable(s). In another example, the adjustment calculator receives data relating to properties of ammunition that may affect the trajectory of the ammunition.

  • Publication number: 20070177261
Abstract: Certain embodiments described herein comprise a telescope comprising primary and secondary mirrors and a corrector. The primary mirror has a first curved reflecting surface having a non-hyperbolic shape. The second secondary mirror has a second curved reflecting surface having a hyperbolic shape. The corrector comprises substantially optically transmissive material. The primary mirror, the secondary mirror, and the corrector are disposed along an optical path such that light propagates through the corrector to the primary mirror and from the primary mirror to the secondary mirror. In certain embodiments, the shapes of the first and second curved reflecting surfaces of the primary and second mirrors, respectively, and the shape and the index of refraction of the optically transmissive material of the corrector are such that the telescope is aplanatic.
