  • Publication number: 20080064842
Abstract: The present invention provides moisture-curable polymeric compositions, overcoming disadvantages normally associated with moisture-curable polymeric compositions, a process for their preparation, and methods of use thereof. The process included in the present invention ensures full end-capping. Furthermore, the present invention makes use of diisocyanates to chain-extend polyether polyols to a desired length. This allows the process of the present invention to accommodate a wide range of polyether polyols in the synthesis of the compounds of the invention. Additionally, the process of the present invention reduces the level of unreacted isocyanate to an acceptable level of approximately 0.1 wt %.

  • Publication number: 20070213493
Abstract: The present invention relates to dual curing compositions, which cure with moisture and photo radiation, such as UV light, and methods for preparing and using same. In particular, the compositions of the present invention contain a polyether or polyester backbone, photocurable portion(s) and moisture curable portion(s). The photo curable portion is a urethane or carbamate linkage terminated with a (meth)acryloxyalkyl group. The moisture curable portion is either: (1) a portion terminated with a polyalkoxysilyl group; or (2) a portion having a urea linkage terminated with an alkylpolyalkoxysilyl group.

  • Publication number: 20060014844
Abstract: A two-part curable foaming composition comprising: (A) A first part comprising: (i) an alkoxysilyl capped prepolymer; and (ii) a polyhydrogen siloxane; (iii) optionally a catalyst which accelerates both foaming and cross-linking through said alkoxysilyl groups; and (B) A second part comprising: (i) a nitrogen-containing compound having an active hydrogen; (ii) water; and (iii) optionally a catalyst which accelerates both foaming and cross-linking through said alkoxysilyl groups; provided that at least one of the parts contain a catalyst and wherein after mixing together the first and second parts a cured elastomeric foam is formed.

  • Publication number: 20050131188
Abstract: Flexible, moisture curing ABA triblock copolymers are prepared from poly(alkylene oxide) diols as the B segment and polyester diols as the A block. This backbone is end-capped with siloxy end groups to obtain RTV moisture curing triblocks having high strength and flexibility.
