  • Publication number: 20070080593
Abstract: A compliant bearing sleeve resides between a bearing and a bearing seat, thus opening tolerance requirements, and providing thermal and mechanical insulation of the bearing from the bearing seat. The bearing sleeve comprises alternating outside and inside ribs residing on a sleeve body. In a relaxed state (i.e., not inserted into a motor) the sleeve body is cylindrical. When the bearing sleeve is inserted into the motor, the ribs cause the sleeve body to deform to allow the sleeve to fit between the bearing seat and the bearing. The bearing sleeve preferably includes an axial bearing stop to retain the bearing, and is preferably made of a high temperature material.

  • Publication number: 20060055276
Abstract: Round keyed brushes for electric motors. The brushes are formed from sintered material and the protruding key runs the length of the brush. The brush material is preferably carbon combined with copper and/or silver. Brush guides (or hoods) are screwed into an end bell, and keyways are then broached in the brush guides to properly align the round brushes. A braided copper shunt wire is centered in the round brush (i.e., co-axial) and runs substantially the length of the brush. The commutator contact surfaces are arced to match the commutator, and may be grooved to improve motor break-in.

  • Patent number: 6981740
Abstract: A ski jig that has a center vice secured to a frame that has two wing members. The wing members are curved and sized to allow the ends of a Nordic type ski to rest on the wing members. In this way, the ends of the ski, including the tips, are fully supported at all times. Thus, a user can apply full pressure to the ski without fear of damaging it. The frame can be bolted to a table to secure it for use. The center vice is formed of two rectangular plates that abut the center of the device. A wing nut and bolt for the locking mechanism. The center of the ski is placed in the vice and the wing nut is tightened until the ski is secure. Pads, attached to the inside of the vice plates, protect the ski from damage.

  • Patent number: 6732294
Abstract: A method of disaster recovery testing continues to maintain a data collection and it continues to maintain a backup data collection. The method includes creating a disaster recovery control file based on a standard control file. An instance of the backup data collection is protected. A standard output pool is established for recording changes to the backup data collection occurring under control of the standard control file. A disaster recovery output pool is established for recording changes to the backup data collection occurring under control of the disaster recovery control file. Disaster recovery testing is conducted under control of the disaster recovery control file.
