Patent number: 11941486Abstract: Computational systems and methods employ characteristics of a quantum processor determined or sampled between a start and an end of an annealing evolution per an annealing schedule. The annealing evolution can be reinitialized, reversed or continued after determination. The annealing evolution can be interrupted. The annealing evolution can be ramped immediately prior to or as part of determining the characteristics. The annealing evolution can be paused or not paused immediately prior to ramping. A second representation of a problem can be generated based at least in part on the determined characteristics from an annealing evolution performed on a first representation of the problem. The determined characteristics can be autonomously compared to an expected behavior, and alerts optionally provided and/or the annealing evolution optionally terminated based on the comparison. Iterations of annealing evolutions may be performed until an exit condition occurs.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2023Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: D-WAVE SYSTEMS INC.Inventors: Steven P. Patent number: 9874472Abstract: Vibration amplitudes are recorded as a function of rotation speed and of frequency and the data is analyzed to estimate a noise floor amplitude threshold for each of a plurality of different speed and frequency sub-ranges. On the basis of training data known to be normal speed-frequency areas which contain significant spectral content in normal operation are deemed “known significant spectral content”, so that during monitoring of new data points which correspond to significant vibration energy at speeds and frequencies different from the known significant spectral content can be deemed “novel significant spectral content” and form the basis for an alert. The estimation of the noise floor is based on a probabilistic analysis of the data in each speed-frequency area and from this analysis an extreme value distribution expressing the probability that any given sample is noise is obtained.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2010Date of Patent: January 23, 2018Assignee: ROLLS-ROYCE PLCInventors: Lionel Tarassenko, David A Clifton, Dennis King, Steven P King, David J Ault

Patent number: 9454335Abstract: A printer which is configured to automatically transmit data, such as critical and non-critical printer data, and route that data through at least one of a plurality of communication channels and services, such as via e-mail or mobile wireless equipment (e.g. an Internet-ready pager, a Personal Communications Service (PCS) phone or a wireless Personal Digital Assistant (PDA)). Preferably, the printer is configured such that it can be programmed and controlled from a remote location. Preferably, the printer is configured such that new label formats can be added from a remote location, and label formats stored in the printer can be viewed and modified from a remote location. Preferably, the printer is also configured such that barcode rendering algorithms can be downloaded to the printer from a remote location, and such that printer settings can be viewed and modified from a remote location, and thereafter can be downloaded to the printer and/or to other printers in a network to facilitate cloning.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 2006Date of Patent: September 27, 2016Assignee: ZIH CORP.Inventors: Jeffrey R.
