The method includes identifying one or more anatomical parts in an acquired image, mapping the acquired image to a reference image based on the one or more anatomical parts, storing anatomy information in relation to the acquired image, and displaying the acquired image based on the anatomy information. The method may also include controlling the displaying of the acquired image based on a voice command related to the anatomy information. Anatomy information may be displayed with the acquired image. Anatomy information may include clinical information, reference information, disease process information, a related image, and/or drug interaction information, for example. The acquired image may be displayed according to a display setting, such as a window level setting and/or other display setting, based on the anatomy information.

The control program is used with a wireless detector and comprises a feature that controls display, a feature that identifies a signal associated with a subject, and a feature that displays information in response to the identification feature. Security features can also be incorporated.

    Abstract: An x-ray imaging system includes a source of x-rays, a video camera which produces an image signal formed by x-ray attenuation values, and image signal processor and a video monitor for displaying the x-ray image. The system also has an automatic image control that includes a peak detector, an average brightness detector and a transfer function generator for the image processor. The peak detector receives the image signal and produces a video gain control signal for controlling the video camera in response to a comparison of a peak level of the image signal to a peak reference level. The average the brightness detector employs the image signal to produce a feedback signal which controls by the source of x-rays. The transfer function generator produces a histogram of intensity levels in the image signal which histogram forms a look-up table that is used by the image processor to transform the image signal into the adjusted image signal for display.

    Abstract: An interactive system for producing acceptable quality fluoroscopy images determines X-ray tube photon count and voltage while minimizing X-ray radiation dosage to a subject. Parameters of the subject and the type of image to be produced are provided to the system. X-ray tube voltage U and photon count Q are initialized at a fraction of conventional values for a portion of a subject to be imaged. An image is created and sectioned into rectangles. Rectangles having the greatest and least gradient values are used to determine variances indicating signal and noise power respectively. Images are produced and adjusted until the maximum transmitted power is reached, or the signal-to-noise ratio does not increase beyond a quality increment. The process is repeated to optimize X-ray tube voltage. The X-ray fluoroscopy procedure is then performed with the optimum X-ray tube photon count and the optimum X-ray tube voltage thereby reducing X-ray dosage. The optimization is repeated periodically to readjust the system.

    Abstract: An x-ray fluorographic system which produces a cineangiogram enables a feature in the image to be identified with a cursor and automatically tracked in subsequent images. The identified feature, such as a suspected lesion in a coronary artery, is located in each x-ray frame of the cineangiogram and the data is displayed such that the feature remains motionless in the center of each successive image.
