  • Publication number: 20230338814
Abstract: A ball game apparatus in which movements of a coded ball are detected by detector units and an automatic indication of a player’s score is given, where data relating to the ball are stored in a database connected to the detector units, the data including the code of a ball and a code relating to a player to whom the ball has been allocated, the ball being configured to temporarily store, and to intermittently transfer to the detector units and thence to the database, data relating to the ball’s movements. A rechargeable battery is contained within the ball, and is arranged to be charged by a battery charging system. Features of the game may be controlled by means of a player’s mobile telephone.

  • Patent number: 9808677
Abstract: A ball game apparatus comprises a control device (14, 24, 52, 60) which defines a predetermined range of allowable movements of a ball (10, 20, 40, 70) over space and time, sensing means (12, 22, 42) for detecting the actual movements of a ball, comparison means for comparing an actual movement to the predetermined range of allowable movements, and indicating means (16, 34, 54, 62) for indicating the output of the said comparing. The sensing means (12, 22, 42) comprises a multi-axis accelerometer contained in the ball and having accelerometer, gyroscope and/or magnetometer functions. The ball may be activated by an internal magnetically-operated switch (17, 22, 47). The control device and indicating means can be incorporated in the ball itself or in a separate portable computing device.

  • Publication number: 20110201437
Abstract: A golf ball struck by a player from a teeing area (22) to a second area (27) with golf holes (26), (30) passes beneath the lower edge (65) of a transparent screen (64) and then through photoelectric beam arrangements (66, 67). The holes (26, 30) incorporate ball sensors connected to a control device (60) which allocates scores. A selected hole may be illuminated and the control device rewards a successful putt into the selected hole with a higher score.
