An example habitat control system includes a habitat functional device and a habitat control hub. The habitat functional device is configured to perform a function within a habitat. The habitat control hub is configured to provide power to the habitat functional device and to transmit instructions to the habitat functional device. An example method of controlling a habitat functional device includes transmitting an information request to a habitat control hub from a user computing device. The example method further includes receiving, from the habitat control hub, a list of habitat functional devices connected to the habitat device. The example method further includes transmitting an instruction for a habitat functional device from the list of habitat functional devices to the habitat control hub.
