  • Publication number: 20040054441
Abstract: A control system for a bulk material baler embodied in a machine readable data structure and including an instruction to a moveable guide track to move from a removed position to a closed position to create a guide track loop around a volume of bulk material to be baled while that bulk material is under compression and also including in instruction to a bale strap feed drive to feed a pre-determined length of strapping around the guide track loop, and including an instruction to a cutter to cut the end of the bale strap and including an instruction to a strap fastener to fasten together the ends of the bale strap and including an instruction to remove the moveable guide track section from around the bale and an instruction to release compression and an instruction to eject a bound bale.

  • Publication number: 20040006402
Abstract: An operator interface for a control system for a bulk material baler includes interface means such as a touch screen or keyboard for an operator to enter process parameters into a control system memory. A display shows process parameter fields into which an operator may enter desired control parameters. The display also displays data feedback from baler process sensors. The baler control system then controls baling parameters as the operator directs including: strap feed position, strap feed speed, strap feed torque, strap release tension, tying cylinder position, tying cylinder speed and tying cylinder torque. The operator may also control carriage movement, alarm limits, shut off limits and monitor on the display baler processing data both currently and historically. Other aspects of automated baling may be optionally monitored or controlled through the operator interface of the present invention.

  • Publication number: 20030189127
Abstract: An illuminated rod standoff has a base with a recessed surface mountable to a wall, and an axially positioned fastener oriented normal to the recessed surface. The fastener engages a cap which centers a cylindrical sidewall resting on the recessed surface within a close-fitting peripheral edge. The cap closes an open end of the sidewall and provides, at mutual right angles, a pair of cap engagement features, one fixed to the fastener, thereby holding the cap securely to the cylindrical sidewall and the cylindrical sidewall to the base. The other feature receives a towel or tissue rod. A lamp is mounted on the base for transmitting light through the transparent cylindrical sidewall and the cap for illuminating a space.

  • Patent number: 6457856
Abstract: A temperature sensitive element within a timepiece which includes a casing, movement, mainspring and a bi-directional rotation to unidirectional rotation converting mechanism for winding the mainspring where the temperature sensitive element tends to angularly deflect with change in temperature and such tendency produces energy to wind the mainspring. More specifically, the invention in one form thereof utilizes a temperature sensitive bimetallic coil, which is restrained from radial deflection and the free end moves to rotate the shaft in the self-winding mechanism and effects self-winding of the timepiece. The free end of the coil will move with change in temperature. The coil is anchored at its inner end and the other end thereof, upon movement, will drive a driver member in the form of an orbit gear. In this embodiment, the orbit gear will drive a plurality of planet gears, which drive a sun gear mounted to a shaft.

  • Patent number: 6413579
Abstract: The invention is a method of making a coated glass substrate having a low haze. A soda-lime glass substrate having at least one surface upon which a coating may be deposited is provided. The glass substrate is heated and maintained at a temperature sufficient to volatilize salts that may be formed during the depositing of a first coating on the glass substrate. A first gaseous precursor mixture including a halogen containing precursor, a metal precursor, an oxidizing agent, and an inert to carrier gas is directed toward and along the surface to be coated and reacting the mixture at or near the surface of the glass substrate to form a first coating containing a metal oxide coating. The glass substrate is cooled to a temperature to reduce crystalline growth in a second coating to be applied over the first coating.

  • Patent number: 6394152
Abstract: A system and method is provided for automatically dispensing paint from an industry standard paint container to maintain a given level of paint in a paint roller tray. An upwardly open vessel, containing a lower surface and a plurality of walls, houses a valve actuator, which contacts a dispensing lid to release paint from an industry standard paint container. The lower surface of the upwardly open vessel is further divided into a lower, paint reservoir surface and an upper, shallow surface. An elevated surface is formed over the paint reservoir surface to support an inverted dispensing lid attached to an industry standard paint container. The dispensing lid contains an inner spring-like flange, which allows the dispensing lid to be attached to an industry standard paint container. The dispensing lid further contains a valve. When the dispensing lid, and attached paint container are inverted and placed upon the elevated surface of the upwardly open vessel, the valve actuator comes into contact with the valve.

A language model, which is an implicit description of a graph consisting of a plurality of states and arcs, is input into the system. An input speech signal, corresponding to a plurality of speech frames, is received and processed using a shared memory multipurpose machine having a plurality of microprocessors. Threads are created and assigned to processors, and active state subsets and active arc subsets are created and assigned to specific threads and associated microprocessors. Active state subsets and active arc subsets are processed in parallel to produce a textual representation of the speech signal.

  • Patent number: 5781178
Abstract: A computer input device includes a non-conductive substrate with a first conductive pattern formed by a plurality of first conductive elements positioned on the substrate surface circumferentially around a circle. A second conductive pattern formed by a plurality of second conductive elements, each positioned on the surface between two first conductive elements. A contact member has a conductive surface which when manually operated by a user selectively connects one or more of the first conductive elements to one or more of the second conductive elements. The ones of the second conductive elements so connected can be detected to produce a signal indicating an angular direction in which a cursor on a computer screen.

  • Patent number: 4896289
Abstract: A personal computer/electronic typesetter interface includes an expansion board suitable for insertion into each of a plurality of personal computers functioning as page composition work stations, wherein one or more of the work stations is also connected for communication to an electronic typesetting machine. The expansion board includes logic for converting the data obtained in a preselected file from the coded format generated by the page composition work station to a second coded format recognized by the electronic typesetter to which the file is directed for output. The interface of the present invention also includes logic for continuously monitoring the status of the files in each of the queues, logic for interrupting the normal operation of the work station and displaying the first and second queues in response to a preselected command, and logic for allowing the operator to perform other file routing and queuing operations in response to other preselected commands.
