  • Patent number: 10907808
Abstract: A plaster frame assembly includes a base plate that has a base wall and a plurality of side walls that extend substantially perpendicular to the base wall from a perimeter of the base wall. The base wall includes at least one regressed pad that has a plurality of perforations. The plurality of perforations receive one or more securing fasteners therethrough to secure or fasten the base plate to the ceiling. Furthermore, the base wall includes one or more sealing features that provide an air-tight sealing for a recessed housing can received through and retained in a can receiving opening formed in the base wall. The one or more sealing features include multiple collar sections that define a groove for receiving a sealing member, and one or more sealing tabs disposed between the multiple collar sections and configured to seal one or more adjustment apertures of the recessed housing can.

  • Patent number: 9970634
Abstract: A remodel recessed luminaire includes a housing can that defines a first slope and a junction box that defines a second slope. Further, the housing can includes a channel to retain a thermoprotector therein, the channel being defined by an indentation formed in a top wall of the housing can. The junction box includes a top cover that is coupled to a main body of the junction box and the top wall of the housing can such that the top cover encloses a wire management cavity that is formed by the channel that is communication with a second cavity defined by the main body. Furthermore, the junction box includes a coupling feature to attach an electrical component to the junction box. The first slope and the second slope operate in unison to fit the remodel recessed luminaire through small ceiling apertures and/or ceiling apertures in thick ceilings.

  • Patent number: 9429307
Abstract: A connection to an electrical supply for a lighting system can be configured to facilitate deployment of the lighting system in a cramped space, for example in a shallow overhead plenum. The lighting system can comprise a housing for the light source. One or more sides of the housing can extend about the light source, for example circumferentially around the light source or otherwise laterally enclosing the light source. The electrical connection can be provided at a side of the housing, resulting in a low profile.
