  • Patent number: 5408809
Abstract: A bag pan is provided for an agricultural bagging machine wherein the bag pan includes a support which is pivotally secured to the axle of the machine and which is adapted to have various sizes of bag pans removably positioned thereon. A handle extends forwardly from the bag pan support towards the forward end of the machine. When the handle is in its upper position, the bag pan rests on the ground so that the bag may be loaded thereonto. When the handle is in its lower and locked position, the folded bag is supported on the bag pan with the proper amount of clearance being provided between the bag pan and the tunnel floor.

  • Patent number: 5367860
Abstract: A conveyor for an agricultural feed bagging machine is disclosed and includes a double-bottom auger trough which extends upwardly and rearwardly over the upper end of the front hopper panel of the hopper on the machine. A pair of elongated augers are mounted in the double-bottom trough and have flighting thereon which are oppositely disposed with respect to each other. The augers are rotated in opposite directions so that the feed is conveyed upwardly towards the upper end of the hopper. The front auger has flighting thereon which terminates at approximately where the front auger intersects the upper end of the front panel. The back auger has flighting thereon which terminates at approximately where the back auger intersects or passes over the front wall of the hopper panel. Projections are provided on the upper ends of each of the augers above the flighting thereon.

  • Patent number: 5355659
Abstract: An agricultural feed bagging machine including a length adjustable tunnel is provided to permit the adjustment of the compaction resistance offered by the tunnel. The length adjustable tunnel comprises an outer tunnel shell which is movably mounted on a fixed inner tunnel shell so that the length of the tunnel may be selectively varied. A pair of hydraulic cylinders are connected to the outer tunnel shell for moving the outer tunnel shell relative to the inner tunnel shell.

  • Patent number: 5345744
Abstract: A compost bagging machine is described including a wheeled frame having a tunnel mounted thereon which is adapted to receive the opened mouth of a bag. The inside surface of the tunnel is provided with a plurality of spaced apart flutes which create air channels in the material within the bag. An elongated perforated pipe is also positioned within the material in the bag and the bagging machine moves relative to the bag during the bagging operation. The presence of air in the channels created by the flutes and the air present in the perforated pipe ensures that sufficient air will be present in the mass to achieve complete decomposition of the material.

  • Patent number: 5297377
Abstract: An agricultural bagging machine is disclosed which includes a plurality of horizontally disposed and vertically spaced cables positioned at the rearward end of the tunnel of the machine. The cables are dragged through the silage being bagged as the bagging machine moves away from the closed end of the bag so that the proper amount of density is created in the material being bagged. Each of the cables defines a cable loop which extends rearwardly from the output end of the tunnel into the open end of the bag. The lengths of the cables may be adjusted to permit the density to be controlled. The number of cables may also be varied to control the density in various types of silage materials.

  • Patent number: 5295554
Abstract: An agricultural bagging machine including a wheeled frame having at least first and second wheels provided at the forward end thereof and at least third and fourth wheels provided at the rearward end thereof. First, second, third and fourth hydraulic cylinders are pivotally connected to the first, second, third and fourth wheels respectively with the first and second wheels being operated together and independent of the third and fourth wheels. The third and fourth wheels operate together and operate independently of the first and second wheels. A vertically disposed hydraulic jack stand is mounted on the machine at the tow end thereof to enable the second and fourth wheels as well as the tow end of the machine to be raised so that the second and fourth wheels are out of ground engagement. The povital arrangement of the wheels permits the machine to be spin-turned and maneuvered.

  • Patent number: 4502378
Abstract: A silage compression machine includes a primary shaft which rotates a plurality of teeth to force material through a passageway into a tunnel. The tunnel includes an arcuate wall extending upwardly and rearwardly from a main beam to a top wall. A hydraulic fluid reservoir is supported on the main beam and includes a rear wall extending adjacent to the arcuate wall of the tunnel. Spacers maintain a predetermined gap between the rear wall of the reservoir and the arcuate wall of the tunnel.

  • Patent number: 4493605
Abstract: A clamshell-type loader bucket has a pair of jaws with meeting edges that close together on one side of the bucket and on the bottom of the bucket to retain fine material such as sand, dirt or dry grain. The meeting edges on the bottom of the bucket are arranged to pick up such material from a flat supporting surface when the bucket is in vertical position. The bucket has a hopper bottom with inclined bevel plates on the jaws arranged to force material upward in the bucket as the jaws close on the material when the bucket is in vertical position.

  • Patent number: 4424051
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for manufacturing two-ply agricultural storage bags, two supplies (36, 38) of flexible tubular materials are positioned on opposite sides of feed wheels (26) mounted on a generally cylindrical frame structure (24). The inner material (36a) from the first supply (36) extends through the frame (24) and outwardly around the feed wheels (26). The outer material (38a) from the second supply (38) extends around the feedwheels (26) in surrounding engagement over the inner material (36a). Actuation of the feedwheels (26) effects simultaneous advancement of the materials (36a, 38a) around the frame (24) so that a bag can be collected at the lower end of the frame.
