  • Patent number: 7347907
Abstract: An adjustable corner fitment for a roof and a method and apparatus for making the same are provided. The adjustable corner fitment may be comprised of a top membrane portion and a base membrane portion. The top membrane portion may have a cutout that may extend from a side of the top membrane portion. The base membrane portion may have four-sides. The first side of the base membrane portion is preferably connected to the second side of the base membrane portion at a first angle greater than 90 degrees, and the third side of the base membrane portion is preferably connected to the fourth side of the base membrane portion at a second angle greater than 90 degrees. It is preferred that the top membrane portion and the base membrane portion are made from thermoplastic olefin (TPO) material or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material.

  • Patent number: 6892782
Abstract: A boot provides a water-tight seal around a protrusion on a roof. A top portion thereof surrounds a predetermined portion of the protrusion. A bottom end thereof has a bottom opening and a horizontally flat bottom edge. The top portion may form the boot alone or in combination with a base portion that is connected to the bottom edge. The top portion extends substantially vertically when the base portion resides on the roof. The boot may be open to allow installation on existing protrusions. A top end of the top portion may have a slit running vertically down a predetermined distance thereof to allow the top opening to be adjusted around the protrusion. The boot is installed by placing the bottom opening over the protrusion with the base portion substantially flat on the roof. The top opening is pulled into a fit and sealed around the protrusion.

  • Patent number: 6892499
Abstract: The present invention is a boot and a method of making a boot for providing a water-tight seal around a protrusion on a roof. The boot may have a top portion adapted to surround a predetermined portion of the protrusion to be covered. The bottom end of the top portion has a bottom opening and a horizontally flat bottom edge. The boot may be installed by placing the bottom opening of the top portion over a protrusion to be covered so that the base portion is substantially flat on the roof. The top opening of the top portion may then be pulled around the protrusion so that it may be adjusted to fit the protrusion. Then the top opening of the top portion may be sealed around the protrusion and the base portion may be sealed to the roofing membrane.

  • Patent number: 4861219
Abstract: An apparatus for lifting and carrying heavy loads includes a generally horizontally extending support beam attached between a pair of generally vertically extending posts. The distance between the ends of the support beam is selectively adjustable. The bottom end of each support post is attached to a side beam and the side beams are connected together at a front end by a steering mechanism and at a rear end by a beam assembly. Both the steering mechanism and the beam asssembly are selectively adjustable to vary the distance between the side beams to correspond to the distance between the ends of the support beam thereby maintaining the posts in a generally parallel relationship. The side beams are also selectively adjustable to vary the length of the load carrying apparatus. Ground engaging wheels are rotatably attached to the side beams and the steering mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4854804
Abstract: An apparatus for lifting and carrying heavy loads includes a generally horizontally extending support beam attached between a pair of generally vertically extending posts. The lower end of each post is attached to one of a pair of generally horizontally extending side beams which are connected together at a front end by a steering mechanism. A winch for moving a load is coupled to the support beam and is connected to either a pan or directly to a load for releasably engaging and lifting a load. A rear edge of the pan is rotatably attached to the side beams and a front edge can be lifted by the winch to dump a load carried on the pan. A pair of lifting arms can be connected between the posts and the side beams to cooperate with the winch to move a load between the ground and a roof.
