  • Publication number: 20220401254
Abstract: An oral appliance device that selectively engages upper teeth and lower teeth within a human mouth includes an upper appliance member, a lower appliance member, and a first vertical shim. The upper appliance member selectively engages the upper teeth. The lower appliance member selectively engages the lower teeth. The appliance members are movable relative to one another between an open position and a closed position. The first vertical shim is removably secured to one of the appliance members. The first vertical shim has a first shim height so that a teeth spacing between the upper teeth and the lower teeth is maintained when the appliance members are in the closed position. The teeth spacing is at least as great as the first shim height. The oral appliance device can further include a second vertical shim that is alternatively, removably secured to one of the appliance members. The second vertical shim has a second shim height that is different than the first shim height.

  • Publication number: 20190216634
Abstract: An oral appliance device for use within a human mouth, the human mouth including a tongue, includes an appliance member and a first tongue positioner. The appliance member selectively engages teeth within the human mouth. The first tongue positioner is configured to adjust positioning of the tongue, the first tongue positioner being removably secured to the appliance member. The oral appliance device can further include a second tongue positioner that is configured to adjust positioning of the tongue, the second tongue positioner being alternatively, removably secured to the appliance member. Additionally, the first tongue positioner can have a first size, and the second tongue positioner can have a second size that is different than the first size.

  • Publication number: 20190216636
Abstract: An oral appliance device for use within a human mouth having an upper jaw and a lower jaw includes an appliance member and a jaw position controller. The appliance member selectively engages teeth within the human mouth. The jaw position controller is configured to control a relative position between the upper jaw and the lower jaw within the human mouth, the jaw position controller being integrally formed with the appliance member. Additionally, the appliance member and the jaw position controller are formed from a nylon-based material. Further, the appliance member and the jaw position controller can be manufactured using one of a three-dimensional printer and a selective laser sintering process.

  • Publication number: 20190209362
Abstract: An oral appliance device for use within a human mouth includes an upper appliance member, a lower appliance member, and a connector assembly. The upper appliance member selectively engages upper teeth within the human mouth. The lower appliance member selectively engages lower teeth within the human mouth. The connector assembly movably connects the upper appliance member and the lower appliance member to one another. The connector assembly includes a first connector button that is removably secured to the upper appliance member, a second connector button that is removably secured to the lower appliance member, and a connector band that is coupled to the upper appliance member with the first connector button and coupled to the lower appliance member with the second connector button.
