Patent number: 10802111Abstract: A level measurement instrument comprises an analog circuit for transmitting a pulse signal at a target of interest and receiving reflected echoes of the pulse signal and developing an echo waveform representative of the reflected echoes. A programmed digital circuit is operatively coupled to the analog circuit and comprises a programmed controller and memory. The controller is operatively programmed to identify peaks in the echo waveform and store an active peak list in the memory from a current measurement scan and a buffer peak list from prior measurement scans. The controller is further programmed to match peaks in the active peak list to peaks in the buffer peak list, to select a target peak from the active peak list based on which of the matched peaks have moved, and determining material level responsive to the target peak.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2018Date of Patent: October 13, 2020Assignee: Magnetrol International, Inc.Inventors: Christopher P. Turcotte, Steven R. Page

Publication number: 20190257935Abstract: A radar transmitter for emulsion measurement comprises a probe mountable to a bottom of a vessel and defining a transmission line extending upward into the vessel, in use, for sensing impedance. A pulse circuit is connected to the probe for periodically generating pulses on the transmission line and receiving a reflected signal from the transmission line, each reflected signal comprising a waveform of probe impedance over time. A controller is operatively connected to the pulse circuit and comprises a programmed processor and a memory. The memory stores trace data of a plurality of individual waveforms. The processor is programmed to profile a first section of the waveforms which does not change over time and a second section of the waveforms which changes over time, representing an emulsion moving in the vessel. The controller locates where the waveforms indicates motion to determine emulsion level.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 18, 2019Publication date: August 22, 2019Applicant: Magnetrol International, IncorporatedInventor: Steven R. Patent number: 9546895Abstract: A radar transmitter for emulsion measurement comprises a probe defining a transmission line for sensing impedance. A pulse circuit is connected to the probe for generating pulses on the transmission line and receiving a reflected signal from the transmission line. The reflected signal comprises a waveform of probe impedance over time. A controller is operatively connected to the pulse circuit. The controller profiles content of the emulsion responsive to the waveform by transforming the waveform into impedance relative to distance, converting the transformed waveform into effective dielectric relative to distance, determining mixture content of the emulsion at select distances responsive to the effective dielectric at the select distances and developing an output representing mixture content relative to level units.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2013Date of Patent: January 17, 2017Assignee: Magnetrol International, IncorporatedInventors: Michael D. Patent number: 9331867Abstract: One or more I/O channels are assigned masks of message types that may pass through the channels, and one or more fields of an outbound message are set to one or more message type. A channel mask of an I/O channel is applied to a type of the outbound message, and if the channel mask matches the type of the outbound message, the outbound message is allowed to pass through the I/O channel to a switch. The outbound message is switched to an output port, and if the channel mask does not match the type of the outbound message, the outbound message is rejected from passing through the I/O channel and the channel mask of a next I/O channel is applied to the type of the outbound message.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2007Date of Patent: May 3, 2016Assignee: ARRIS Enterprises, Inc.Inventors: Robert C. Publication number: 20090154718Abstract: In some communication applications, a near-end talker employs a cellular phone that either operates in a noisy environment and does not support artificial noise injection or injects noise but supports a simple, fixed noise injection. This may result in “blanking” of the background noise and result in repeated “are you still there?” questions or premature termination of a call. In order to prevent this feeling of “blanking,” a suppressor backfill module according to an example embodiment of the invention backfills those blank periods with noise, optionally in an inverse relationship with power of noise in a near-end signal, resulting in repairing sound quality degradation and giving a far end talker a feeling of call continuity. As a result, the near-end and far-end talker have a better experience during the call.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 14, 2007Publication date: June 18, 2009Inventor: Steven R. Page

Patent number: 7147012Abstract: A combination gravimetric and volumetric fluid dispenser is disclosed which includes a scale linked to a controller. The controller is linked to a plurality of two stage valves which control the dispensing of large quantities of base materials. The controller is also linked to a plurality of nutating pumps which together with the controller controls the dispensing of smaller quantities of additive materials. The dispensing system disclosed is particularly useful for paints or other liquid formulations where larger quantities of base materials are added and which can be added by weight and whereby precise measurements of the larger base materials is not particularly required. However, the incorporation of nutating pumps and the addition of smaller amounts of additives by volume using the nutating pumps enables precise dispensing of the additives, such as colorants for paint. The larger containers or reservoirs of base material may be disposed at a remote location from the dispensing apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2005Date of Patent: December 12, 2006Assignee: Fluid Management, Inc.Inventors: Kenneth R. Kaufhold, Steven R. Page, Donald A. Rummelhart
