  • Publication number: 20040219059
Abstract: A coronary bypass system incorporating a minimized extracorporeal blood circulation module is disclosed. In one embodiment, the extracorporeal blood circulation module comprises a rigid support plane for carrying the blood-handling components of the system, including an blood pump, an oxygenator, a filter, a venous blood reservoir, and a sampling manifold. The extracorporeal blood circulation module is pre-configured to interconnect all of the blood-handling modules, such that total interconnective tubing length is minimized and interfacing with an overall heart-lung bypass console can be accomplished with maximum efficiency. In one embodiment, the venous blood reservoir is of the soft-shell variety mounted over a raised platform defined in the front surface of the support plane. The raised platform further defines a indention on the front surface of the support plane.

  • Patent number: 6070288
Abstract: A tool storage module adapted to be mounted to the handle of a vacuum cleaner comprising a handle pivotally mounted to a floor supported base. The accessory storage module has a support panel to which is mounted a pliable storage bag. The storage bag is preferably removably mounted to the support panel. The storage bag is also transparent, made, for example, of a mesh material, for viewing of the contents of the storage bag from outside the storage bag. The storage bag can be sized to receive multiple tools and accessories.

  • Patent number: 5544385
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner filter bag mounting assembly comprises a bag mounting member having a fixed plate which is secured to a housing of a vacuum cleaner and a hinge plate which is pivotally mounted to the fixed plate through a living hinge. A channel is formed on the outside surface of the hinge plate for a receipt of the vacuum bag collar and an air deflector extends outwardly from the fixed plate for insertion into the filter bag. The bag mounting member is preferably integrally molded from a single injection-molding operation. An outlet tube is integrally molded to the fixed plate and has bag-retaining projections on an outer surface and a deflector at the end to deflect particles downwardly into the filter bag. The filter bag is retained in the operating condition by the bag-retaining projections on the outlet tube.

  • Patent number: 5309600
Abstract: A multi-use vacuum capable of use as an upright vacuum or as a canister vacuum is disclosed. A detachable vacuum module is selectively mounted to the foot and support member of an upright vacuum. The vacuum module includes the vacuum motor, motor-driven fan, vacuum bag and hose. The vacuum may be operated as an upright vacuum or, alternatively, the module can be separated from the foot and support member and may be used independently of and at a great distance from the foot and support member for a wide variety of cleaning purposes.

  • Patent number: 4487602
Abstract: An injection device particularly suitable for the intraruminal injection of ruminants is described. The injection device is characterized by a needle carrying means and a needle actuation means, which are operatively coupled such that the needle actuation means permits movement of the needle carrying means from a retracted position to an extended position, wherein the needle is capable of piercing the rumen, only when the needle carrying means is in a preferred orientation (e.g. perpendicular) to the surface of the host animal at the injection site. The injection device is further characterized by a dose delivery actuation means which is responsive to the relative position of the needle carrying means and the needle actuation means such that the dose is delivered to the host animal only when the needle carrying means and the needle actuation means are in a preferred position relative to each other.
