  • Patent number: 11655775
Abstract: A system that controls a combustion engine stores network vectors in a memory that represent diverse and distinct spiking neural networks. The system decodes the network vectors and trains and evaluates the spiking neural networks. The system duplicates selected network vectors and crosses-over the duplicated network vectors that represent modified spiking neural networks. The system mutates the crossed-over duplicated network vectors by randomly modifying one or more portions of the crossing-over duplicated network vectors. The system meter exhaust gas into an intake manifold when an engine temperature exceeds a threshold, an engine load exceeds a threshold, an engine's rotation-per-minute rate exceeds a threshold, and a fuel flow exceeds a threshold. The system modifies fuel flow into an engine's combustion chamber on a cycle-to-cycle basis by the trained spiking neural network.

  • Patent number: 11429865
Abstract: A system and method design and optimize neural networks. The system and method include a data store that stores a plurality of gene vectors that represent diverse and distinct neural networks and an evaluation queue stored with the plurality of gene vectors. Secondary nodes construct, train, and evaluate the neural network and automatically render a plurality of fitness values asynchronously. A primary node executes a gene amplification on a select plurality of gene vectors, a crossing-over of the amplified gene vectors, and a mutation of the crossing-over gene vectors automatically and asynchronously, which are then transmitted to the evaluation queue. The process continuously repeats itself by processing the gene vectors inserted into the evaluation queue until a fitness level is reached, a network's accuracy level plateaus, a processing time period expires, or when some stopping condition or performance metric is met or exceeded.

  • Patent number: 8198705
Abstract: In accordance with a specific embodiment, a method of processing a semiconductor substrate is disclosed whereby the substrate is thinned, and the dice formed on the substrate are singulated by a common process. Trench regions are formed on a backside of the substrate. An isotropic etch of the backside results in a thinning of the substrate while maintaining the depth of the trenches, thereby facilitating singulation of the die.

  • Patent number: 7311397
Abstract: A prosthetic eye has a white scleral portion with a simulated iris painted on the front and a horizontal polarized disc at the center of the iris. The center of the polarized disc is darkened with paint to simulate a pupil having a fairly small diameter. The back of the polarized disc is painted to blend with the iris or simulate the collarette of the eye. The prosthetic eye is used in conjunction with the special pair of eyeglasses having a lens formed of linearly polarizing material with the transmitting axis in the vertical plane. When the eyeglasses are used, it makes the pupil appear to dilate because it causes the entire disc to blacken when viewed through the polarized lens.

  • Patent number: 7230194
Abstract: Structure and method for forming a switchable shunt for a suspension assembly having conductive, insulating and metal base layers. The shunt includes a bridge in the conductive layer with either a continuous connection or small gap between ends of the bridge. The continuous connection of the bridge is severed either by temporarily moving the lands out of their original plane by stretching and rupturing the bridge or by shearing the continuous connection of the bridge. For the sheared or gapped bridge, at least one end of the bridge is moved out of plane, compressed and elongated. When released, the separated ends of the bridge overlap and contact each other to form a normally-closed switch. To subsequently open the switchable shunt, at least one of the lands is moved out of plane to physically and electrically open the connection between the separated and overlapped ends of the bridge.

  • Patent number: 6669727
Abstract: A prosthetic eye and a coordinating pair of glasses simulate dilation of the pupil of a normal eye. The prosthetic eye has a white scleral portion with a simulated iris is painted on the front. A polarized disc is located at the center of the iris. The polarized disc is placed on the horizontal transmitting axis. The center of the polarized disc is darkened with paint to simulate a pupil having a fairly small diameter. The back of the polarized disc is painted to blend with the iris or simulate the collarette of the eye. Over the top of the polarized disc and iris is a dome of material simulating the cornea of the eye.
