  • Patent number: 8212147
Abstract: A finger friendly twist-on wire connector having a spiral coil and an open end rigid shell secured to the spiral coil with the rigid shell having an outer surface with a circumferential band and a closed end supporting a finger cushion material integral to at least a portion of the outer surface of the rigid shell with the finger cushion material including a plurality of circumferentially spaced elongated ribs resiliently deformable in response to radially and tangential finger forces thereon as rotational finger forces are transmitted to the rigid shell through the finger cushion material to thereby inhibit finger fatigue and finger injury while allowing the user to maintain a feel of the wire engagement within the wire connector.

  • Publication number: 20090265882
Abstract: Described herein are improved wet/dry vacuum appliance assemblies and associated systems which facilitate the ease of removal of the filter assembly from within the appliance itself. The vacuum appliance assemblies described include a drum, a lid assembly adapted to removably mount on or to hinge on the drum, and a filter assembly housed within the lid assembly, wherein the lid assembly comprises a removable component such that if the removable component is removed, the filter assembly is accessible.

  • Publication number: 20090230627
Abstract: A sealing member and a preemptive system and a preemptive method of preventing or stopping a primary joint leak between a pipe and a pipe fitting by securing a sealing ring to the pipe and the pipe fitting to form a secondary joint that inhibits or prevent leakage between the primary joint between the pipe and the pipe fitting without knowing if the primary joint is faulty.

  • Publication number: 20070256271
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and system to adjust the outflow of exhaust air that flows out of a nozzle outlet attached to a removable vacuum unit of a wet and dry vacuum cleaner. This adjustment allows the vacuum unit to perform at full operating capacity in a vacuum mode and yet reduce the air flow in a blower mode with the vacuum unit operating as if in the vacuum mode. The nozzle can include an air diverter that allows air in the nozzle to be diverted away from nozzle outlet. The air diverter can be adjusted to a variety of positions for controlling the amount of air diversion. The nozzle can be removably coupled with the vacuum outlet using a latch. An inlet ring on the nozzle having an enclosed portion can engage the vacuum outlet on the vacuum unit and stabilize the nozzle coupling to the vacuum unit.

  • Patent number: 6182326
Abstract: Apparatus for a home workshop to collect wood dust from a plurality of locations and deposit the dust in a central container. The apparatus consists of a tubing manifold, running along the wall of the workshop, with multiple connection points for tools. The manifold contains a vacuum tee fitting that allows the vacuum source to be connected in the middle of the manifold, rather than at one of the ends, without sacrificing collection efficiency. This reduces the average length of the suction path to the tools, further enhancing collection efficiency, and allows location of the vacuum source where convenient.

  • Patent number: 5195664
Abstract: A container with a discharge valve attached defines an interior volume containing a liquid. A rigid dip tube is connected between the valve and a flexible dip tube. This flexible dip tube, in turn, is attached to a weighted pick-up head. The pick-up head is formed of a buoyant portion and a weighted portion, such that the head is self-righting but does not float. A conduit, which may be continuation of the flexible tube, extends through the pick-up head to an inlet on the lower face of the head. The configuration of the head provides spacing between the inlet and the container walls such that the inlet always is in communication with the liquid.
