  • Publication number: 20100169131
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for providing a customized travel guide and customized travel itinerary, combining segments from multiple travel service providers. The system programmatically creates itineraries, checking for time constraints and interferences. Travelers prioritize activities allowing for a traveler to instruct the service to expand or shrink the trip time to include all activities of highest priority, or vice versa. In addition, the service can make recommendations for activities and scheduling based upon the traveler's profile, other traveler's ratings and recommendations, and similar user profiles. Output can be used in an offline mode, or, upon connecting to the online service, take advantage of automatic alarms and updates should the planned activities data change. With the addition of a GPS locating device, or through tracking the dates of travel, the system is able to present the traveler with only the data most relevant to their location while traveling.

  • Publication number: 20070234334
Abstract: Implementations of the present invention allow software resources to be duplicated efficiently and effectively while offline. In one implementation, a preparation program receives an identification of a software resource, such as a virtual machine installed on a different volume, an offline operating system, or an application program. The preparation program also receives an indication of customized indicia that are to be removed from the software resource. These indicia can include personalized information as well as the level of software updates, security settings, user settings or the like. Upon execution, the preparation program redirects the function calls of the preparation program to the software resource at the different volume (or even the same volume) while the software resource is not running. The preparation program thus can thus creates a template of the software resource in a safe manner without necessarily affecting the volume at which the preparation program runs.

  • Patent number: 7193335
Abstract: A socket assembly enables a number of electrical appliances to be automatically isolated from, and reconnected to, an electrical power supply upon respectively switching off or on a “master” appliance. Generally, the assembly includes: a master electrical outlet and at least one slave electrical outlet, both connectable to a common power source; sensing means for sensing power drawn from the master electrical outlet; a controller operable to isolate the at least one slave electrical outlet from the power source when the sensing means detects a fall in power drawn from the master electrical outlet from a first, higher level to a second, lower level.
