  • Publication number: 20150254562
Abstract: A method for recommending choices to a user comprises receiving data. A first set of recommendation choices based on the data is derived using a first model that models a user's subconscious reactions (i.e., intuition) to the data, and a second set of recommendation choices based on the data is derived using a second model that models the user's consciousness. The first and second sets of recommendation choices are blended using a blending function based on characteristics of a domain of the data to create a third set of recommendation choices that are arranged in an order, which is presented to the user. A conscious decision of the user and subconscious reactions of the user are monitored, and data representing the subconscious reactions of the user and data representing the conscious decisions of the user are appended to a first and second memory space, respectively.

  • Patent number: 9094445
Abstract: Packets may be received by a packet security gateway. Responsive to a determination that an overload condition has occurred in one or more networks associated with the packet security gateway, a first group of packet filtering rules may be applied to at least some of the packets. Applying the first group of packet filtering rules may include allowing at least a first portion of the packets to continue toward their respective destinations. Responsive to a determination that the overload condition has been mitigated, a second group of packet filtering rules may be applied to at least some of the packets. Applying the second group of packet filtering rules may include allowing at least a second portion of the packets to continue toward their respective destinations.

  • Publication number: 20150156016
Abstract: A communication channel between a first processor of the receiver and a second processor of the battery assembly is provided using a comparator coupled to second processor of the battery assembly. The receiver or battery assembly transmits a first communication to establish the communication channel. In response, the battery assembly requests a public key from the receiver. The receiver combines the public key with a private key stored in memory, applies a first hash function to combined public key, stores a first hash value in memory and transmits the public key to the battery assembly. The battery assembly combines the public key with a corresponding private key, applies a corresponding hash function to the combined public key and transmits a second hash value to the receiver. The receiver compares the first hash value to the second hash value and enables operations of the receiver when the first hash value equals the second hash value.

  • Patent number: 8814362
Abstract: A method for combining a plurality of eye images into a plenoptic multifocal image that includes registering the eye images with a plurality of frames into one or more eye image sets with a processor and a memory system, aligning each of the eye images in each of the one or more image sets with a selected reference that resides on the memory system with the processor and determining one or more in-focus regions of the eye images by calculating one or more gradient images while ignoring noise and other imaging artifacts. The method also includes identifying the one or more in-focus regions with highest resolution from the one or more gradient images and selecting one or more corresponding in-focus intensities from the frames to combine into a plenoptic multifocal image with a higher resolution than the eye images, the frames and the one or more eye image sets.
