  • Patent number: 8971699
Abstract: An optical network failure recovery method for a passive optical network is provided. The method includes steps of: obtaining at least one round-trip delay value according to an equalization delay value of at least one optical network unit with respect to an operating optical line terminal; sorting the round-trip delay values in an increasing order and obtaining a minimum round-trip delay value; obtaining at least one difference between the minimum round-trip delay value and the round-trip delay value of each of the optical network units; and adjusting a start time and a stop time in a bandwidth map for a ranging response message replied by each of the optical network units according to the at least one difference.

  • Patent number: 7660538
Abstract: An optical burst mode receiver comprises a photo-detector receiving an optical signal for conversion to a current signal, a transimpedance amplifier receiving and converting the current signal into first and second transmit signals, a limiting amplifier comprising first and second input terminals and an output terminal generating a data signal, and a control circuit coupled to the first and second transmit signals to verify that if the optical signal is valid. The control circuit is further coupled to the first and second input terminals of the limiting amplifier. When the optical signal is valid, the control circuit provides the first and second input terminals with the first and second transmit signals respectively to generate the data signal. When the optical signal is invalid, the control circuit provides the first and second input terminals with distinct voltage levels to maintain the data signal at a steady level.

  • Patent number: 7301943
Abstract: There is disclosed an QoS-oriented burstification method supporting various grades of burstification delay guarantee. For the arrival packets, the packets are sequentially inserted in a sequence of windows on weight basis, thereby forming a queue. The window size together with the weight of each flow determines a maximum number of packets of each flow in a window. For the departure packets, there is generated a burst consisting of a plurality of packets from the head of the queue when either a total number of packets reaches a maximum burst size or a burst assembly timer expires.
