  • Publication number: 20050047334
Abstract: A Fibre Channel switch is presented that tracks the congestion status of destination ports in an XOFF mask at each input. A mapping is maintained between virtual channels on an ISL and the destination ports to allow changes in the XOFF mask to trigger a primitive to an upstream port that provides virtual channel flow control. The XOFF mask is also used to avoid sending frames to a congested port. Instead, these frames are stored on a single deferred queue and later processed in a manner designed to maintain frame ordering. A routing system is provided that applies multiple routing rules in parallel to perform line speed routing. The preferred switch fabric is cell based, with techniques used to manage path maintenance for variable length frames and to adapt to varying transmission rates in the system. Finally, the switch allows data and microprocessor communication to share the same crossbar network.

  • Publication number: 20040001326
Abstract: Disclosed are novel methods and apparatus for efficiently providing power buses and bump patterns with reduced inductance and/or resistance. In an embodiment, an apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a plurality of power and ground bus pairs. Each power and ground bus pair may have a power bus and a ground bus. The apparatus further includes a first power bus from a first pair of the plurality of power and ground bus pairs. The first power bus may include a plurality of power bumps. The apparatus also includes a first ground bus from the first pair of the plurality of power and ground bus pairs. The first ground bus may include a plurality of ground bumps. Each of the plurality of power/ground bumps may be substantially equidistance from any immediately neighboring ground bump of the first ground bus.

  • Publication number: 20030227982
Abstract: A method and system for modulating data onto a carrier signal in a plurality of channels, each of the channels having a channel bandwidth, can be created for use in any two-way satellite communication system or other wireless communication application where frequency hopping with or without Doppler compensation is desired. The system preferably includes a digital modulator that outputs a modulated baseband signal, an intermediate frequency modulator that receives the modulated baseband signal and outputs an intermediate frequency signal derived from the modulated baseband signal, a frequency synthesizing system that outputs a synthesized intermediate frequency signal to the intermediate frequency modulator, and a circuit (numerically controlled oscillator) connected to the digital modulator which provides a signal to the digital modulator.

  • Patent number: 6635895
Abstract: A sensor system for determining the position of an edge of a moving web of material travelling along a predetermined travel path. the sensor system comprising a transmitter/receiver assembly, a beam reflector assembly and sensor signal processing. The transmitter/receiver assembly is positioned adjacent to the travel path of the moving web of material. The transmitter/receiver assembly has a transmitter transmitting a light curtain across at least a portion of the travel path, and a receiver receiving a shifted light curtain transmitted across at least a portion of the travel path and generating video output signals indicative of the position of the edge of the moving web of material. The beam reflector assembly is also positioned adjacent to the travel path of the moving web of material such that the travel path passes between the transmitter/receiver assembly and the beam reflector assembly.

  • Patent number: 6099921
Abstract: A formable decoration including an elongate formable member, decorative greenery, and attachment apparatus. The attachment apparatus attaches the decorative greenery to the formable member. The formable decoration may be formed into a decorative shape such as a straight line, an arch, a candy cane, and a wreath. The formable decoration may then be reformed into multiple decorative shapes.

  • Patent number: 5614838
Abstract: A system for testing a high speed integrated circuit includes a test device having a test clock with a first maximum frequency for performing level sensitive scan design (LSSD) testing of the integrated circuit device under test, a frequency multiplier circuit for multiplying the test clock signal to a higher second frequency capable of operating the device under test, and a finite state machine for generating a first internal clock for testing the device under test. In a practical embodiment, the internal clock speed may be running at a frequency many multiples of the test clock.

  • Patent number: 4802591
Abstract: A machine and method for separating chip-like particles according to thickness which provides low blinding and high efficiency at high throughput in sustained operation. The machine has a sloping deck mounting a series of spaced flexible louvers or slats which extend parallel to the direction of chip flow down the deck. The slats are canted transversely to the direction of flow, and present unobstructed full length slot-like chip openings between them. The deck is driven with a horizontal gyratory motion such that during the upstream half of each cycle of movement, each slot moves toward chips on the adjacent slat which slopes toward it, and moves away from such chips during the downstream half of the cycle. The path of screening movement is uniform over the entire deck, that is, the motion of the lower or discharge end of the deck matches that of the upper or feed end.
