  • Publication number: 20110303053
Abstract: A tool extension for a socket wrench includes a jointed, articulated series of square-drive male/female adapter ends with intermediate couplers having hex ball-head and socket joints. Three such intermediate couplers together in one series allow for an overall 90-degrees of flex. Each coupler has a bell body over which a pliable control cover is stretched. Each hex ball head and socket joint is bridged over by a corresponding pliable control cover which then snaps over a retaining lip just under a neck.

  • Publication number: 20110238456
Abstract: Various technologies and techniques are disclosed for providing business automation. A business automation system is disclosed that provides contact tracking, split testing, landing page creation, tracking of the performance of printed promotions that are sent by direct mail, and automated follow-up, to name a few examples. Points can be assigned to certain activities within the system, and contacts that have the highest scores based upon those activities can be identified for additional follow-up. A browser-based designer allows for the generation of print materials such as post cards. Multiple layers can be added, manipulated, and/or rearranged. A PDF proof can also be generated. A browser based designer is also described that allows for the generation of landing pages.

  • Patent number: 7010568
Abstract: An accessible URI may be generated in response to determining that an existing valid URI is inaccessible. When a valid URI is determined to be not accessible, then a valid URI may be generated to access content by extracting keywords from the non-query component URI (e.g., directory, domain, port, or fragment, etc.) of the inaccessible URI and using such keywords as a search request or as the query portion of the generated accessible URI.

  • Patent number: 6993594
Abstract: One or more character image elements can be detected from an identifier that includes a character image of an emoticon, the image elements including a base image identifier and character modifier identifier. After detection at least one uniform resource identifier component corresponding to said at least one character image element can be generated. After component generation a uniform resource locator (URL) incIuding said at least one uniform resource identifier component can be generated. After URL generation, a network resource can be requested from the URL.

  • Patent number: 6945320
Abstract: A tubular heat exchanger has at least one pair of dimples which are extruded into at least one tube of the heat exchanger by deforming the tube wall inwardly. The dimples of each pair are in generally facing relationship, but are offset with respect to each other along a longitudinal axis of the tube, which slows down the flow of flue gas in the tube when the heat exchanger is in operation and increases the turbulence of the gas, thereby enhancing the transfer of heat from the flue gas to air flowing across the outer surfaces of the heat exchanger. The offset design allows each dimple to protrude beyond the centerline of the tube, which alters the direction of the flue gas flowing in the tube.

  • Publication number: 20050193935
Abstract: A farming system compensates for soils that drain too well by underlaying the crop fields with a planar network of liquid reserve matrices. These are placed at the bottom of the root zone, below the level that ordinary seasonal tilling will reach. In one version, the top soil is laid open and the underlayment is patterned out like carpet tiles. The top soil is then back filled to bury the liquid reserve matrices at a predetermined depth. In another version, individual cone shaped cups are forcibly driven deep into the ground below the seasonal tilling depth. Both versions can then enable reductions in the necessary volumes of watering, fertilizing, and application of herbicides and pesticides because the individual buried wells will catch some of the drainage and keep it near the root zone.

  • Publication number: 20050179539
Abstract: A portable security system. The portable security system includes a wheeled trailer and a telescopic mast that is coupled to the trailer. The mast is pivotable between a first generally horizontal retracted position and a second generally vertical extended position. A cabinet is mounted onto the trailer and houses a control subsystem, a data input subsystem, a data server and a data storage subsystem. At least one input device is connected to the data input subsystem. The data input subsystem receives data from the input device and forwards the data to the data storage subsystem for storage by means of the data server.

  • Publication number: 20050126558
Abstract: A multi-position furnace is provided that can be positioned for downflow operation, upflow operation, left horizontal flow operation, or right horizontal flow operation without major modifications in the field. The furnace includes a multi-position condensate draining system which facilitates draining of condensate fluid regardless of the orientation of the furnace. The condensate draining system includes a header box and an exhaust manifold, each of which includes a number of drain ports that allow fluid condensing from combustion gasses to be drained regardless of furnace orientation. A trap is configured for attachment to the furnace in any one of four different positions, and receives condensate fluid from the header box and from the exhaust manifold. An air intake manifold is specially configured to maintain a low profile, thereby facilitating use of the multi-position condensate draining system.

  • Publication number: 20020105199
Abstract: An inexpensive tire manipulating apparatus includes a generally C-shaped frame having an elongated base and two spaced arms extending to one side of the base at the respective ends of the base. A removable retaining element extends between the arms in spaced relation to the base and a sling is suspended from the base. A mounting element for attachment to a crane boom is located mid-way between the ends of the frame base and allows the apparatus to be advanced toward or moved away from a tire from the side, rather than from above, to avoid damaging fenders overlying the tires on a vehicle to be serviced.

  • Patent number: 4871308
Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for heating fluids wherein separate gas streams of natural gas and air are compressed to a preselected pressure, passed to an injection and mixing zone for thorough mixing including expansion of one gas and compression of the other, passed to a combustion chamber for burning with the combustion products being further contracted and passed to a heat exchanger conduit where such combustion products are progressively further contracted as they are brought into heat exchange with the fluid to be heated.
