Abstract: A single use lancet device having a housing, with an open interior and an access opening defined therein, a lancet, with a body and a piercing tip, and disposed in the open interior of the housing so as to move between a cocked orientation and a piercing orientation, a driving assembly structured to move the lancet into the piercing orientation, and a restrictor assembly having a shoulder element and a restrictor panel operatively associated with the lancet and the housing and structured to pass over the restrictor panel upon the lancet moving from its cocked orientation to its piercing orientation, and to abut the restrictor panel upon attempted movement of the lancet back into its cocked orientation after movement into the piercing orientation, thereby preventing the lancet from moving back into the cocked orientation and preventing re-use of a contaminated piercing tip.

Abstract: A cartridge for a testing device and method of testing using the testing device with the cartridge is disclosed. The cartridge includes a plurality of lancet needles, a plurality of test strips, and a mechanism allowing the cartridge to be mounted to the testing device. The method provides for puncturing a surface of skin using the testing device by arranging the testing device against a user's skin, triggering the testing device so that one of the plurality of lancet needles is caused to penetrate the user's skin, placing an amount of blood on one of the plurality of test strips, and rotating the cartridge to another position.

A holding member is movably mounted within the body. The holding member includes a front end and a rear end. The front end is configured to receive a lancet. A main spring is disposed between the front and rear ends of the holding member. A first stop surface is arranged on a front portion of the holding member. A second stop surface is axially retained to a front portion of the body. At least partial rotation of the front cover causes the skin engaging end to move axially relative to the second stop surface.

A display is configured to display the advertisement, and a processor controls a movement within the advertisement during the display of the advertisement on the display. The movement is controlled in accordance with a speed of motion determined by the processor.

Abstract: An object insertion system is provided for inserting a portion of a model image into an image signal. The object insertion system includes a camera that obtains the model image. An image processor determines the portion of the model image to be inserted into the image signal from the model image obtained by the camera. The image processor extracts the portion of the model image from the model image. An image extractor determines an image component of the image signal, and the image processor inserts the portion of the model image into the image signal as the image component. The image processor determines the portion of the model image from the model image obtained by the camera based on the image component of the image signal determined by the image extractor.

Abstract: A communication system, including an apparatus, method and program, is provided for communicating a message from a vehicle to a location. The communication system detects a distance to an object that is located at the location and a speed of the vehicle. A target distance is then calculated on the basis of the detected distance to the object and the detected speed of the vehicle. A determination is made as to whether the object is configured for communication with the vehicle. According to the determination, a message is communicated to the object from the vehicle.
