Publication number: 20220280673Abstract: Disclosed is a malodor control system that includes use of a malodor scavenger to sequester a malodor molecule to reduce and/or eliminate the noxious odor the malodor molecule generates. Some embodiments can include use of a substrate as a non-woven fabric sheet as a delivery system for the malodor scavenger. The substrate can include a polymer complexed with active ingredient to lock the active ingredient in place at a surface of the substrate via a binder so that the active ingredient is present at a predetermined activity level. After interacting with malodor molecules, at least some of the active ingredient migrates via passive diffusion to the substrate surface to maintain the predetermined activity level. Embodiments of the substrate are made from a blend of polyester and rayon, wherein rayon is made using viscose, allowing the substrate to be biodegradable and to handle an increased load of active ingredient.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 2, 2022Publication date: September 8, 2022Inventors: Steven Semoff, Dov Kesten, Robert Wong

Publication number: 20220015357Abstract: An aerial sanitizer for use in indoor spaces may be created by dispersing an operative fluid within a fluid dispersion device or other like apparatus. The operative fluid may be comprised of a first compound, such as triethylene glycol, or any other like compound sufficiently effective as an aerial germicide. Because of the hygroscopicity and low toxicity of triethylene glycol, or other like germicidal compounds, the operative fluid may further include a second compound, such as deionized water, to devise the operative fluid in dynamic equilibrium with the surrounding ambient air, such that the triethylene glycol or other like compound will abstain from ambient water uptake, thereby preventing the dilution of the operative fluid. Such an operative fluid may further include a third compound, such as alternative essential oils, for both germicidal activity and the provision of certain sensory signals, whether organoleptic or otherwise.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 12, 2021Publication date: January 20, 2022Inventors: Steven Semoff, Spence Levy

Publication number: 20190133917Abstract: The present technology relates to compositions useful for “priming” the surface of a user's skin before, contemporaneous with, or after application of a compound containing a fragrance to the skin, to prolong the longevity of the fragrance. The present technology is also directed to methods of reducing the dissipation, or the rate of dissipation, of a fragrance from the surface of the skin.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 28, 2017Publication date: May 9, 2019Inventors: Abby Wallach, Caroline Pieper-Vogt, Steven Semoff

Publication number: 20050226900Abstract: Described is a human epidermal and/or human hair treatment composition of (i) fragrance and/or malodour counteractant and (ii) fragrance- and/or malodour counteractant-compatible solvent-containing microcapsules provided in a suspension gel or emulsion. Also described is a method for delivery of fragrance and beneficial agents to the human epidermal surface area region treatment and/or human hair treatment wherein the microcapsules remain on the human epidermis and/or on the hair follicles for a substantial period of time subsequent to their application and the microcapsules are ruptured over a period of time, thereby effecting both an initial delivery of fragrance and beneficial agent subsequent to rubbing, and, in addition, a controlled release of fragrance and beneficial agents into to the treated human epidermis and/or hair follicles.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 13, 2004Publication date: October 13, 2005Inventors: Clint Winton Brooks, Lewis Popplewell, Steven Semoff, Jerome Lindauer, Kaiping Lee, Yueqian Zhen, Melanie Prol, Johan Lodewijk Pluyter
