  • Publication number: 20050077988
Abstract: A flexible magnetically coupled pushbutton switch assembly has a coupler layer magnetically held against a flexible layer that has flaps that function as flexible armatures. The flexible armatures are normally magnetically coupled to the coupler layer. The coupler layer is a sheet of magnetic receptive rubber material that includes debossed spacers, and there are embossed crowns in the flexible armatures. The embossed crowns fit into openings in the coupler layer so that a switch user may manipulate the flexible armatures. The debossed spacers support the flexible layer above a bottom layer such that there are armature cavities for the flexible armatures. An arrangement of electrical conductors is affected when a switch user selectively manipulates a flexible armature so that an electrical circuit connected to the electrical switch is opened or closed when the switch is actuated.

  • Publication number: 20050056786
Abstract: A pulse controller device for controlling the excitation of a heat source used in thermographic imaging is disclosed. The pulse controller device comprises a power supply, a heat source coupled to the power supply, a device coupled to the power supply signaling the power supply to deliver electrical power to the heat source, a sensor for sensing the delivery of electrical power to the heat source, a flash duration module coupled to said sensor for measuring a duration of time, and a gate device coupled to said flash duration module for gating the electrical power utilized by the heat source. A method for thermographically evaluating a sample is also disclosed. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

  • Publication number: 20050008215
Abstract: A method for compiling thermographic data including obtaining data indicative of a monotonically changing characteristic of a specimen, sequencing the data or a surrogate of the data into a plurality of groups, categorizing, within each group, the frequency distribution of an attribute of the data or an attribute of said surrogate data, and compiling, from one or more groups, a collection of two or more of the frequency distributions.

  • Patent number: 5943347
Abstract: A method for concealing errors during transmission of audio data packets. Initially, the fundamental pitch period of a data packet is determined. A value indicating this fundamental pitch period is added as a preamble to the data packet prior to its transmission. When a data packet is received, it is checked for dropped or corrupted data. If there are any errors, the fundamental pitch period is replicated with the data from the previous frame the requisite number of times and substituted in replacement thereof. The audio is then played back so the impact of any errors is perceptually insignificant.
