  • Publication number: 20210304311
Abstract: A computer implemented method includes maintaining at a first network connected server a record of a group of stakeholders with an interest in the performance attributes of a digital asset. Maintaining includes collecting stakeholder digital consideration from the group of stakeholders. A second network connected server stores a list of experts on the performance attributes of digital assets. A first endorsement of the performance attributes of a digital asset and expert digital consideration are received at the first network connected server from a network connected expert client machine. A second endorsement of the performance attributes of the digital asset and non-expert digital consideration are received at the first network connected server from a network connected non-expert client machine.

  • Patent number: 9900667
Abstract: Systems and methods for authorizing the connection of a utility service are disclosed. The system can comprise a utility meter, or other utility connection, a utility server, and a means of communication. The utility meter can comprise a disconnect switch capable of connecting and disconnecting a location from the utility. The disconnect switch can connect the utility to the location upon a command from the server and confirmation from a customer. The system can enable utilities to offer pay-as-you-go and pre-paid utility services, which can minimize the financial exposure of the utility. The system can also enable customers to connect utility services without having to be present and/or come into physical contact with utility equipment.

  • Patent number: 7566041
Abstract: An improved page holder comprising a clamp (10R) attached to a self-retracting reel (14), the latter being set at a predetermined tension to retain pages without prohibiting page turning, and having a tension adjustment dial (16) at its lower end. The reel (14) dispenses a monofilament (18) which extends across the reading matter (19) and attaches to a second clamp (10L). Thus the page holder can be applied in a variety of settings, and retains various reading matter (19) against wind, drafts, and the closing tendency of bound books, while enabling manual page turning.

  • Publication number: 20080025561
Abstract: Digital watermarking or steganographic data hiding is used to convey location data in video. A digital watermark or steganographic signal may associate geovector or geolocation information with video, video objects or areas depicted in the video. Other implementations and combinations are provided as well.

  • Publication number: 20050078851
Abstract: The present invention provides digital watermarks through multiple channels. The channels can include, e.g., visible, ultraviolet and infrared channels. The non-visible channels can be selected to fluoresce either in the visible or IR/UV spectrums upon the appropriate illumination in the infrared or ultraviolet spectrums. The watermarks in the various multiple channels can cooperate to facilitate watermark detection or to authenticate an object in which the watermarks are embedded. In other implementations the multiple watermarks include so-called orientation components. A relative relationship between the orientation components is used to convey data.

  • Publication number: 20030029288
Abstract: An apparatus for trimming scrap from a blank 10 is provided including a clamping pad 12 holding a blank 14 against a steady blade 16. A moving blade 18 with a radius 24 works in combination with a support element 30,in communication with the scrap 26, to reduce defects in the blank 14 associated with the trimming process.

  • Patent number: 6453752
Abstract: A fixture is provided for testing the shear strength of a longitudinal weld which interconnects a plurality of planar blanks forming a tailor welded blank. The fixture includes a first pair of triangular shaped face plates connected to one side of the tailor welded blank and a second pair of triangular shaped face plates connected to the other side of the tailor welded blank. Each of the face plates includes a transverse edge which extends across the longitudinal weld connecting the planar blanks. The fixture further includes each of the transverse edges having a first portion and a second portion spaced from and parallel to the first portion. The fixture also includes an isolation portion interconnecting the first and second portions of the transverse edges adjacent the longitudinal weld for isolating a portion of the weld whereby the isolated portion of the weld is tested for shear resistance by applying a tensile load to the first and second pair of face plates.

  • Patent number: 6186011
Abstract: Method of analyzing spot welded sheet metal structures subjected to forces that promote one or more basic failure modes of either shear tension, in-plane rotation, coach peel, normal tension, or any combination of such basic modes, the method comprising: (i) providing spot welded sheet metal test coupons for analysis of the selected failure mode for the structure to be analyzed and subjecting such test coupons to progressively increasing forces that eventually achieve failure in the selected failure mode to thereby generate measured load and displacement test data; (ii) analyzing the data from the basic modes to derive and extract spot weld strength and stiffness information and then surface fitting such extracted data to create a database; (iii) establishing a computer math model for simulating the spot weld failure modes of the structure and populating the database thereinto to enable simulated physical tests of the structure; (iv) creating a cumulative-damage failure criterion for the spot welded structure
