Abstract: A method for using extensible markup language (XML) for testing a process in a multi-tenant database system is disclosed. The method includes providing a user interface (UI) for a user of the multi-tenant database system, receiving the process for testing via the UI, where the process is created using the UI, receiving an indication from the UI that an XML file is to be extracted for testing the process, and extracting the XML file in response to the received indication, where the XML file is usable for testing the process. Further, sample data for the process can also be created and received. In addition, modifications of the XML file from the user via the UI can be done, the XML file can be executed for testing the process.

Abstract: A computer implemented method a document management workflow in a multi-tenant system environment is disclosed. The method includes receiving instructions to create a composition a document. The document is encapsulated in a knowledge article version and the knowledge article version having a document category. The knowledge article version is associated with a knowledge article. The method further includes invoking the document management workflow that is specific to the knowledge article, the knowledge article version and the document category and configuring the document management workflow to include a plurality of workflow steps based on the knowledge article, the knowledge article version and the document category. Each of the plurality of workflow steps are then associated with one or more triggers and actor roles. The actor roles define permissible actions in each of the plurality of workflow steps.

Abstract: A remote debug session for a server group is provided. A server group including multiple servers that perform workload sharing receives a request to debug code executed at the server group. The code is executed on behalf of a client of a database associated with the server group. One of the servers of the group initiates a debugging session and establishes a communication connection with the client. The one server maintains the connection open with the client for the duration of the debugging session. Subsequent requests related to the debug session can be handled in a number of ways by the server group, and all communication to the client about processing the requests is through the connection by the one server.

This prevention of misuse of database searches can enable reliable operation of the database system, as an improper query using a regular expression will not shut down or severely affect an application process that provides access to the database system. A thread of the application process determines whether an input character characters string matches the regular expression. To prevent misuse, a computational effort of the search is tracked, and compared to a threshold value. When the threshold is exceeded, an operation of the thread is exited or stopped.

Abstract: Embodiments may recover from faults by forming a new set of rows by removing rows associated with faulting save operations and repeating the saving and forming operations using the new set of rows until a set of rows that can be saved from the known start state without fault is determined. When the subset of successful rows is found, embodiments are able to provide assurance that no side effects (i.e., code or operations triggered by saving of a data to a particular location) have been executed on behalf of any of the failed rows (side effects from custom PL/SOQL code included) by deferring execution of triggers until an entire set of rows can be saved and committed.
