Abstract: A tamperproof date/time stamp method that adds a real-time tamperproof date/time stamp to a digital audiovisual file includes generating at least one real-time date/time stamp and applying the date/time stamp to the digital audiovisual file. The real-time date/time stamp can be created through the location-based service in tablet computers. It can also be created through an internal clock running in the background of the application that incorporates the correct date/time from an Internet handshake with a remote server. A system for audio or video recording using a tablet computer includes an audio or video recording software module and a time-stamp software module that generates at least one real-time date/time stamp.
