  • Patent number: 10364747
Abstract: The apparatus and systems are for removing contaminants from an exhaust stream. The process may involve passing at least a portion of an exhaust stream through a cooling component, which draws a cooling stream into the cooling component. The cooling stream interacts with the at least a portion of the exhaust stream to form a mixed stream. The resulting mixed stream is a lower temperature than the at least portion of the exhaust stream.

  • Patent number: 10364505
Abstract: The embodiments herein relate to methods and apparatus for electroplating one or more materials onto a substrate. Typically, the embodiments herein utilize a channeled plate positioned near the substrate, creating a cross flow manifold between the channeled plate and substrate, and on the sides by a flow confinement ring. A seal may be provided between the bottom surface of a substrate holder and the top surface of an element below the substrate holder (e.g., the flow confinement ring). During plating, fluid enters the cross flow manifold through channels in the channeled plate, and through a cross flow inlet, then exits at the cross flow exit, positioned opposite the cross flow inlet. The apparatus may switch between a sealed state and an unsealed state during electroplating, for example by lowering and lifting the substrate and substrate holder as appropriate to engage and disengage the seal.

  • Patent number: 10366843
Abstract: A structural capacitor and method for manufacturing the structural capacitor. A first layer of nonconductive fiber glass may be formed into a desired shape of the structural capacitor, and then a conductive layer made of carbon fiber pre-impregnated material may be placed on the fiber glass layer. A dielectric layer of parylene may then be coated onto the conductive layer using a conformal vapor deposition process. More conductive and dielectric layers may be added in alternating succession until desired structural and/or electrical properties are achieved. A final layer of fiber glass may then be applied and the resulting structural capacitor may be cured.

  • Patent number: 10367930
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a speakerphone configuration for audio and/or video conferencing that includes a cavity underneath the speakerphone where cable ports are arranged. The arrangement of the cable ports are such that when a power plug is installed in the speakerphone, a telecommunication port is blocked, and vice versa. In addition, the port arrangement allows cables to attach to opposite walls in the cavity such that cables run parallel to each other within the cavity. The disclosed speakerphone may be daisy-chained together and function as a single unit. Therefore a speakerphone according to the disclosure may function as either a master unit, a mid unit, or an end unit in a string of speakerphones depending on how the speakerphone is wired. The port arrangement in the cavity increases ease for setup and daisy-chaining of multiple speakerphone units.

  • Patent number: 10365189
Abstract: A single dissolving compound forms plural azeotropes, which can be azeotropically vaporized off at various stages of the treatment process, thus maintaining predictable concentrations of the chemicals present. The treatment process can be performed in the absence of formalin or related compounds which can interfere with the preservation of genetic material. A process for preserving a specimen includes using a dissolving compound that can form a plural number of azeotropes, at least one azeotrope being formed between one or more components of the dissolving compound and specimen-supplied water, and at least one azeotrope being formed between different components of the dissolving compound; successively and azeotropically vaporizing off formed azeotropes; and impregnating the specimen with a support medium.

  • Patent number: 10366370
Abstract: Methods and systems for retrieving and compiling vehicle information from a variety of sources, and assessing circumstances or events based upon the vehicle information. A central entity, such as an insurance provider, may receive the vehicle information and avail information related to a plurality of vehicles to vehicle owners or operators in a single source dashboard. The central entity may assess the vehicle circumstances to determine whether to notify the individuals of an event, such as a vehicle recall or upcoming maintenance, and then generate notifications and communicate the notifications to the individuals. The notifications may enable the individuals to take maintenance, repair, update, and/or other actions to manage the circumstances and potentially avoid situations that may cause unnecessary financial commitments or vehicle damage.

  • Patent number: 10366551
Abstract: A personal electronic device enables access to and occupancy of a secure space by providing measures of behaviors, personal attributes, history of transactions and movements that are used to validate continuous authentication and authorization of the device's possessor. This addresses the vulnerability of a misplaced, lost, or stolen electronic credential. An anchor point is a physical measurement of personal physical identity such as voice recognition, fingerprint, iris scan, chemistry, or other biometric. Continuity from an anchor point is measured by GPS way points, financial transactions at familiar vendors, outgoing text messages or passphrases, gait analysis, heart rate, EKG rhythm, or transit time. A request for access is presented upon a challenge based on proximity to a portal location. A digital credential is used to encrypt two or more of the continuity milestones and an anchor point which can be matched against a previously stored or dynamically generated expected value.

  • Patent number: 10364668
Abstract: A fiber optic sensor is disposed in the elastomer of the stator of the mud motor in order to sense elastomer strain while drilling. The frequencies of micro stalls and stick slips are measured from the fiber optic sensor data by classification using thresholds or by converting time-domain measurements from the fiber optic sensor data to frequencies. For example, the frequencies are produced by accumulating a histogram over an interval of time or by computing a Discrete Fourier Transform over an interval of time. A plurality of fiber optic sensors also can sense angular position of the rotor of the mud motor for correlation of the micro stalls and stick slips with the angular position. The measurements of the micro stalls and stick slips are used to select remedial action such as changes in drilling parameters.
