  • Publication number: 20180161630
Abstract: The present invention concerns golf balls having a modified aerodynamic configuration and a method for creating a modified aerodynamic configuration that improves dimple coverage, interdigitation, and non-alignment in golf ball dimple patterns by rotating the repeating area elements about pre-determined center points, with further optional steps of expanding or contracting the elemental arrangements about pre-determined center points, enlarging or reducing the sizes of dimples, and adding extra dimples to occupy land areas created by the previous steps. The resulting modified aerodynamic configuration with a rotated element has increased dimple coverage, greater interdigitation and improved non-alignment.

  • Publication number: 20180162128
Abstract: A fluidic dispensing device for dispensing a fluid has a body having a chamber with a perimetrical end surface. An ejection chip is attached to the body in fluid communication with the chamber. A diaphragm has a dome portion and a perimeter sealing surface. The perimeter sealing surface of the diaphragm is in sealing engagement with the perimetrical end surface of the chamber to define a fluid reservoir that contains the fluid. The diaphragm has a deflection axis that is substantially perpendicular to a plane of the perimeter sealing surface. The diaphragm has a cross-section profile that controls a deflection of the dome portion to collapse along the deflection axis in a direction that is at least one of toward or away from a plane of the perimeter sealing surface as the fluid is depleted from the fluid reservoir.

  • Publication number: 20180162140
Abstract: A micro-valve includes an orifice plate including an orifice and a cantilevered beam coupled in spaced relation to the orifice plate and moveable between positions where the orifice is closed and opened by the cantilevered beam. The cantilevered beam includes one or more piezoelectric layers that facilitate bending of the cantilevered beam in response to the application of one or more electrical signals to the one or more piezoelectric layers. In response to respective application and termination of the one or more electrical signals to the one or more piezoelectric layers the cantilevered beam either: moves from a starting position spaced from the orifice plate toward the orifice plate and returns back to the starting position spaced from the orifice plate; or moves from a starting position adjacent the orifice plate away from the orifice plate and returns back to the starting position adjacent the orifice plate.

  • Publication number: 20180161192
Abstract: A portable traction device can include a sling that is sized to cradle a user's head primarily at the back and lower part of the skull. The sling can be associated with flexible elastic tethers that are, in turn, associated with an anchor that is positioned a height above the floor when the portable traction device is in use. A tensile force vector between the anchor and the sling allows for cervical traction. The sling can additionally be associated with speakers and/or resonant actuators and can be simplified to increase portability and ease of use.

  • Publication number: 20180165475
Abstract: A relational database is transformed so as to obfuscate secure and/or private aspects of data contained in the database, while preserving salient elements of the data to facilitate data analysis. A restructured database is generatively modeled, and the model is sampled to create synthetic data that maintains sufficiently similar (or the same) mathematical properties and relations as the original data stored in the database. In one example, various statistics at the intersection of related database tables are determined by modeling data using an iterative multivariate approach. Synthetic data may be sampled from any part of the modeled database, wherein the synthesized data is “realistic” in that it statistically mimics the original data in the database. The generation of such synthetic data allows publication of bulk data freely and on-demand (e.g., for data analysis purposes), without the risk of security/privacy breaches.

  • Publication number: 20180167757
Abstract: An audio/video (A/V) hub that coordinates playback of audio content is described. In particular, the A/V hub may calculate current time offsets between clocks in electronic devices (such as electronic devices that include speakers) and a clock in the A/V hub based on measured sound corresponding to one or more acoustic-characterization patterns, one or more times when the electronic devices output the sound and the one or more acoustic-characterization patterns. Then, the A/V hub may transmit, to the electronic devices, one or more frames that include audio content and playback timing information, which may specify playback times when the electronic devices are to playback the audio content based on the current time offsets. Moreover, the playback times of the electronic devices may have a temporal relationship so that the playback of the audio content by the electronic devices is coordinated.

  • Publication number: 20180165703
Abstract: Provided are a system and method for facilitating enrollment in a merchant loyalty program. In one example, the method includes receiving, from a merchant server, a request to enroll a digital wallet user in a merchant loyalty program, the request being input via a merchant website associated with the merchant server, verifying that the digital wallet user is an authorized user of the digital wallet via a window associated with the merchant website, and in response to verifying the digital wallet user is an authorized user, automatically transmitting previously stored information of the digital wallet to the merchant server for enrolling the digital wallet user in the merchant loyalty program. According to various aspects, secure data may be imported into a merchant loyalty program from a digital wallet account, thus simplifying the enrollment process on the user.

  • Publication number: 20180161963
Abstract: The present invention provides a hand tool for enabling an individual to change the height of a traffic intersection light. The hand tool comprises a pair of elongated members with a handle end, jaw end, and a pivot joint, whereby the elongated members are hingedly connected. One jaw member has a distal curved pointed end and the other jaw member has an upper flat end. In use, the curved pointed jaw member is inserted into a height adjuster device to unlock it from a cable. Once unlocked, a technician can selectively reposition an attached traffic intersection light. The hand tool keeps the height adjuster device unlocked because the jaws are spring biased away from each other. Overall, the device that can assist with altering the height of a traffic light.

  • Publication number: 20180160834
Abstract: An absorbent pad holder and containment system includes a frame that can be adjustable in length on all sides to accommodate a varying range of absorbent pad dimensions. The frame design allows the absorbent area of the pad to remain flat while the ramped perimeter design of the frame and the corner attachment system holds the outer edge of the absorbent pad into an upward position. This creates a containment barrier for liquid that would normally flow over the edge of the pad and onto the floor surface. The perimeter design of the liner keeps the pad centered and provides flow of all liquid landing on the pad within the absorbent area of the pad.
