  • Patent number: 9633458
Abstract: In a graphics processing pipeline, a processing unit establishes a bounding box around a polygon in order to identify sample points that are covered by the polygon. For a given sample point included within the bounding box, the processing unit constructs a set of lines that intersect at the sample point, where each line in the set of lines is parallel to at least one side of the polygon. When all vertices of the polygon reside on one side of at least one line in the set of lines, the processing unit may reduce the size of the bounding box to exclude the sample point.

  • Patent number: 9634508
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention include control methods employed in multiphase distributed energy storage systems that are located behind utility meters typically located at, but not limited to, medium and large commercial and industrial locations. These distributed energy storage systems can operate semi-autonomously, and can be configured to develop energy control solutions for an electric load location based on various data inputs and communicate these energy control solutions to the distributed energy storage systems. In some embodiments, one or more distributed energy storage systems may be used to absorb and/or deliver power to the electric grid in an effort to provide assistance to or correct for power transmission and distribution problems found on the electric grid outside of an electric load location. In some cases, two or more distributed energy storage systems are used to form a controlled and coordinated response to the problems seen on the electric grid.

  • Patent number: 9633170
Abstract: In general, the invention is directed toward techniques for remotely monitoring the integrity of a medical device and its components. A remote networking device communicates with a medical device, e.g., an implantable medical device, via a network. The remote networking device sends a request for an integrity measurement to the medical device via the network, a remote network that requests a medical device to perform an integrity measurement. In response to the request, the medical device performs the requested integrity measurement. The medical device may transmit a result of the integrity measurement, e.g., a measured value, back to the remote networking device via the network.

  • Patent number: 9635015
Abstract: A web server authenticates a user with a web client using a database user table and provides a list of new applications, suspended application sessions, and running application sessions. In response to a request for a new application session, a connection is made from an agent server to an application server hosting the requested application, and connection information including a unique session_ID is added to a database session table such that the client can send a user selection for a session_ID to the web server, which associates the requested session_ID to an existing suspended or running application session using the connection database. For additional security, the client is determined to be trusted or untrusted, and if untrusted, connections to the client are made through a forwarding host, which makes connections to the agent server, and the agent server maintains persistent connections from the agent server to the application server.

  • Patent number: 9633397
Abstract: A system and method that allow non-human autonomous agents to participate in a social internet network. The system defines the autonomous agent by a standard email address, website address, or other such identification, that allows human participants of the social network to contact the non-human autonomous agent to perform some operation through the Internet. In one non-limiting example, the non-human autonomous agent is a vehicle that allows the vehicle owner, or user, to contact the vehicle through the social network to perform some operation, such as unlocking the vehicle doors, and allow authorized participants of the social network to see the vehicle as a participant of the network to gain information therefrom, such as the location of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9632745
Abstract: Large numbers of similar-looking or identical physical controls on an audio control surface can make it difficult for operators to rapidly locate desired controls. Highlighting of selected controls focuses the operator's visual attention on controls the operator is manipulating, or has just manipulated and is likely to manipulate again. Controls peripheral to or otherwise related to manipulated controls may also be highlighted. Highlighting methods include the use of control illumination intensity, color, and labeling display text. Visual focusing may include highlighting relationships between channel strips or between individual physical controls, or between the physical controls of a surface and one or more digital audio workstations.
