  • Patent number: 9479469
Abstract: Users of a message management service can collaborate to draft a message to a designated recipient. One user can create a draft message and identify one or more other users to collaborate on the draft. The users become authors of the draft, and the draft becomes available to each user through a drafts folder maintained for that user by the service. The users can each edit the draft. The message management service can send the draft as a message to the recipient when one or more of the collaborating users indicates that the draft should be sent. The message can include an indication that it is a collaborative message from all of the authors.

  • Patent number: 9476935
Abstract: The operation of electrical appliances receiving electrical power from an electrical system may be indirectly monitored using monitoring units engaged with outlets on branch circuits of the electrical system. Electrical systems providing power to appliances to be monitored in accordance with the present invention may comprise split phase alternating current systems, tri-phase systems, or any other type of electrical system. Known loads may be applied to calibrate the monitoring system. The monitoring system may measure the power consumption of appliances operating on the electrical system and/or detect possible fault conditions. Fault conditions may be detected by comparing obtained voltage or power signatures of appliances to expected voltage or power signatures. Expected voltage or power signatures may be obtained, for example, using historical data, a database providing typical voltage or power signatures, or through other means.

  • Patent number: 9479185
Abstract: A phase coherent fractional-N phase-locked loop synthesizer for maintaining phase coherence of a synthesized frequency includes a phase coherent delta-sigma modulator (DSM) having a plurality of feed-forward accumulator stages. The DSM is operatively coupled to a reference clock configured to generate a cyclical reference signal. The DSM configured to count a number of cycles of the reference signal, to cause, at each cycle of the reference signal, each of the stages of the DSM to accumulate a sum of a previous stage of the DSM, and to multiply each sum by a fractional divide word to produce a multiplier output, thereby causing the DSM to output a sequence of signals that tracks with the reference clock.

  • Patent number: 9474488
Abstract: A neural sensor includes a substrate defining an array of vias passing therethrough, a plurality of conductive surfaces, a light source, a plurality of groups of quantum dot-based luminescence units and a charge-coupled device (CCD) array. Each via allows a neurite to grow therethrough. Each conductive surface is adjacent to a different via and is electrically coupled thereto. The light source directs light toward the substrate. Each group of quantum dot-based luminescence units extends upwardly from a different one of the conductive surfaces generates light at a different predetermined wavelength when excited with light from the light source. Each luminescence unit changes its luminescence when electrically stimulated by a neural potential generated by a neurite. The CCD detects luminescence from each of the plurality of groups of quantum dot-based luminescence units and generates a signal representative of intensity of each wavelength of light detected.
