  • Patent number: 7893766
Abstract: A method and apparatus for extending the common mode range of a differential amplifier. A circuit has a common mode detection circuit, a common mode voltage inversion circuit, and a differential amplifier. The common mode detection circuit receives a differential signal and detects a common mode voltage. The common mode voltage inversion circuit is coupled to the common mode detection circuit. The common mode voltage inversion circuit has an input node that receives the common mode voltage and an output node that outputs body voltage, wherein the common mode voltage inversion circuit creates an inverse relationship between the common mode voltage and the body voltage. The differential amplifier includes a differential pair of transistors that have a pair of body terminals coupled to the output node of the common mode voltage inversion circuit.

  • Patent number: 7891528
Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing a liquid onto a substrate includes a dispenser body having an output and a reservoir in fluid communication with the output, the reservoir being defined by a wall and adapted to hold a supply of liquid to be dispensed. A piston is disposed in the reservoir and adapted to pressurize the liquid so that an amount of liquid is dispensed from the output of the dispenser. The piston includes a base portion having an outer periphery and having a first hardness, and a skirt portion integrally molded to the outer periphery of the base portion and having a second hardness lower than the first hardness. A two-shot molding operation may be used to form the piston with the base portion being, for example, formed in the first shot of the molding operation and the skirt portion being formed in the second shot of the molding operation.

  • Patent number: 7894500
Abstract: An RF-excited waveguide laser module comprises a first electrode having a first elongate surface defining in part a waveguide laser channel extending along an optical axis, the first elongate surface having a substantially linear cross-section normal to the optical axis. A second electrode has a second elongate surface defining in part the waveguide laser channel extending along the optical axis. The second elongate surface has a non-linear cross-section normal to the optical axis. A dielectric insert may be provided between the electrodes defining in part the waveguide laser channel. A lengthwise gap may extend essentially an entire length of the waveguide laser channel between one of the first and second electrodes and the dielectric insert. The gap provides fluid communication between the waveguide laser channel and a volume outside the waveguide laser channel.

  • Patent number: 7892199
Abstract: Some embodiments of an infusion pump system may include an occlusion sensor that can be used to detect when an occlusion exists in the fluid path between the medicine reservoir and the infusion site on the user's skin. Such an occlusion may occur, for example, when the fluid flow line (e.g., a cannula, infusion set tubing, or the like) is kinked. If the medicine dispensation path to the user is occluded, the user may receive no dosage or a lower dosage of the medicine. As such, the occlusion sensor can be used to indicate when the fluid is flowing or not flowing, thereby permitting the infusion pump system to communicate an alarm to the user if an occlusion exists.

  • Patent number: 7895125
Abstract: State information is shared across domains. The state information is placed in one or more cookies that are shared across disjoint domains. An intermediary application is used, as one example, to enable the sharing of the state information (e.g., the cookies) across the different domains. The intermediary application is used to add state information to requests received from a client and to responses going to the client. Further, an intermediary application is used to cause a client to save state information for any range of Uniform Resource Locators (URLs), and to cause the client to send any previously stored state information to the intermediary application. Additionally, the intermediary application is used to cause state information previously saved by the client for one range of URLs to be subsequently saved by the client for one or more other range of URLs.

  • Patent number: 7892957
Abstract: A semiconductor device is fabricated with a selected critical dimension. A gate dielectric layer is formed over a semiconductor body. A gate layer comprised of a conductive material, such as polysilicon, is formed over the gate dielectric layer. The gate layer is patterned to form a gate electrode having a first horizontal dimension. One or more growth-stripping operations are performed to reduce a critical dimension of the gate electrode to a second horizontal dimension, where the second horizontal dimension is less than the first horizontal dimension.
