  • Publication number: 20070156209
Abstract: A system for treating an affected portion in a heart comprises a catheter having a first end and a second end; a mono-polar or bi-polar electrode coupled to the first end, wherein the electrode is adapted to be inserted into heart tissue; a power source coupled to the second end and configured to energize the electrode, wherein the electrode emits a radio frequency (RF) signal upon being energized to heat the affected portion to a desired temperature; a temperature feedback control coupled to the electrode and the power source, wherein electrode is configured to alter the emitted RF signal based on a measured temperature of the affected portion. A rotatable member is configured to allow a first portion of the catheter to freely rotate with respect to a second portion of the catheter.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20060205996
Abstract: Incontinence systems and methods for directing treatment to a target tissue of a patient comprise a guide having a first palpation member and a probe body having a treatment zone and a second palpation member. The guide is configured to be inserted into a urethra of the patient. The first palpation member is positioned in a fixed relationship to an anatomical landmark, such as a bladder neck. The probe body is configured to be inserted into a vagina of the patient. The second palpation member is registered proximal the first palpation member so as to position the treatment zone of the probe adjacent the target tissue of the patient and away from the nerves and/or tissues in the area of the bladder neck and bladder.
