  • Patent number: 9382355
Abstract: Resin layers and interlayers exhibiting enhanced adhesion to inorganic surfaces, such as glass, are provided. In some cases, the layers and interlayers may comprise at least one adhesion stabilizing agent for improving adhesion to various surfaces, even in the presence of moisture. Such layers and interlayers may be useful, for example, in multiple layer panels, such as, for example, safety glass used in automotive and architectural applications.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 8, 2014
Date of Patent: July 5, 2016
    Assignee: SOLUTIA INC.
Inventors: Weihong Cui, Steven V. Haldeman, Francois Andre Koran, Pu Zhang

  • Publication number: 20140360582
Abstract: The present invention provides a photovoltaic device comprising metal and a poly(vinyl butyral) layer that incorporates a suitable amount of 1H-benzotriazole. When electrical bias is applied to the photovoltaic device, 1H-benzotriazole forms a barrier layer at the metal/poly(vinyl butyral) interface, which, for example, unexpectedly virtually eliminated the yellowing of poly(vinyl butyral) in photovoltaic devices comprising silver components.

  • Patent number: 5786299
Abstract: A thermal dye transfer assemblage comprising:(I) a dye-donor element comprising a support having thereon a dye layer comprising a dye dispersed in a polymeric binder, the dye being a deprotonated cationic dye which is capable of being reprotonated to a cationic dye having a N-H group which is part of a conjugated system, and(II) a dye-receiving element comprising a support having thereon a polymeric dye image-receiving layer, the dye-receiving element being in a superposed relationship with the dye-donor element so that the dye layer is in contact with the polymeric dye image-receiving layer, the polymeric dye image-receiving layer comprising a mixture ofa) a polymer having a Tg of less than about 19.degree. C. and having no or only slight acidity; andb) a water-soluble, multifunctional carboxylic acid with at least two carboxylic acid groups attached.
