Abstract: The present invention relates to a way to provide computing and communication infrastructure to support full duplex quality of service for urgent and actionable structured communications securely transacted over a many-to-many managed network of intermittent ad hoc nodes. The invention overcomes technical challenges associated with high-volume, short-latency, semi-custom mobile order fulfillment by ensuring communications between customer and merchant are structured, robust, reliable and delivered via a duplex link. The described embodiments are advantageous in that they provide a bidirectional channel to facilitate discussion, confirmation and post-order communication. Moreover, the present invention is scalable to a many-to-many node ad-hoc network.

Abstract: A portable electronic device, such as a fluid infusion device, obtains its operating power from a primary battery and a secondary battery. The primary battery may be a replaceable battery, and the secondary battery may be a rechargeable battery that can be charged with the primary battery under certain conditions. The device utilizes a power management scheme that transitions between the primary battery and/or the secondary battery to prolong the useful life of the primary battery. The device may also generate an intelligent battery life indicator that displays an accurate representation of the remaining life of the primary battery.

Abstract: A circuit for improving the regulation of a current or voltage output using a constant-on-time regulator. The circuit uses a dual sense loop design. One sense loop is used to adjust a reference signal or a sense signal. A second sense loop compares the adjusted reference signal to a sense signal or compares the adjusted sense signal to a reference signal. Accordingly, the use of dual sense loops may maintain more accurate output regulation while enabling an increased dynamic response to changes in output voltage or current.

Abstract: A tool for abrading or polishing and reaming the terminal ends of tubing or fittings using a hand-held electrically powered device having a rotating member capable of accepting a standard shaft which has attached to it a male and female abrasive member which will polish or abrade the inside and outside of a length tubing or fitting respectively using the same tool. Also attached to the standard shaft is a reamer for removing unwanted material from the end of the length of tubing. All of these members are attached at the same end of the standard shaft, thereby allowing all the operations to be performed at one time on each tubing or mating fitting member. In addition, the standard shaft may be connected to a clutch release mechanism allowing the tool mechanism to disengage upon the application of excessive torque.

Abstract: Overlaminated faceless PSA label constructions of this invention comprise a low material cost, thin prelaminate PSA construction having a layer of pressure-sensitive material disposed on a release surface of a removable substrate, and a nonblocking continuous film disposed over a surface of the layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive to render the pressure-sensitive adhesive tack free. An optically transparent overlaminate film layer is disposed over the nonblocking continuous film, and a printed indicia is interposed between the overlaminate film layer and nonblocking continuous film. The prelaminate PSA construction does not include a conventional facestock formed from paper, cardboard or plastic, and is highly conformable.

Abstract: The invention provides polyphase synchronous switching regulator circuits that include N power stages connected in parallel, with each stage synchronized to a timing control signal that is 360.degree./N out of phase from one another. Each power stage supplies current I.sub.OUT /N to the load. Current-mode and voltage-mode control implementations are described that provide efficient, low voltage, high current synchronous switching regulator circuits that have low input ripple current, low EMI, high slew-rate capability and low output ripple.

Abstract: A composite beam or girder fabricated from a section of an "I" shaped rolled structural steel beam and a reinforced concrete slab is formed. The bottom flange and the web of the girder are a section of the "I" beam, the top "top flange" is the concrete slab. The steel section is obtained by cutting the web of the "I" beam in a zig-zag fashion into two similar sections, each having a flange and a sawtooth shaped web. Effective interconnection of the steel section and the reinforced concrete slab is achieved by anchor rods snugly fit into holes provided in the top part of the web.
