  • Publication number: 20240141593
Abstract: Disclosed are multi-ply tissue products comprising a non-crosslinked binder that are durable and dispersible. The products generally have a Slosh time less than 2 minutes, such as less than about 60 seconds, such as less than about 45 seconds. Surprisingly, the foregoing Slosh times are achieved despite the tissue products having relatively high cross-machine direction (CD) wet tensile strength, such as greater than about 100 g/3?. Typically, increasing wet tensile strength, particularly wet CD tensile strength, negatively effects dispersability and increases Slosh time. Despite this trend, the present invention surprisingly provides a tissue product having a relatively high degree of wet strength and good dispersability.

  • Patent number: 11959227
Abstract: The creped multi-ply tissue products are durable, smooth and have low levels of Slough. In certain instances, the creped multi-ply tissue products are produced using a creping composition comprising a non-crosslinked latex polymer. The creped multi-ply tissue products may have a geometric mean tensile (GMT) from about 700 to about 1,500 g/3?, a basis weight from about 45 to about 60 gsm and a Slough less than about 2.00 mg, such as from about 0.10 to about 2.00 mg. The inventive tissue products also have good durability, such as a Durability Index from about 10.0 to about 20.0, smooth surfaces, such as a TS750 value from about 15.0 to 40.0 and low stiffness, such as a Stiffness Index less than about 10.0.

  • Publication number: 20130229722
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for objectives are provided. An objective includes a body, a first concave mirrored surface on the body, a second concave mirrored surface on the body, and a central pathway. The first concave mirrored surface has a centrally located first opening. The second concave mirrored surface has a centrally located second opening. The first and second concave mirrored surfaces are oriented in opposition to each other and coupled together at the first and second openings. The central pathway extends from a first end of the body to a second end of the body, and an axis of symmetry of the body resides in the central pathway. The first and second concave mirrored surfaces focus/magnify light passing through the central pathway through the body. The objective may also include a mask that at least partially obscures the light passing through the central pathway through the body.

  • Publication number: 20130002447
Abstract: A method and system of virtual energy management display involves periodically receiving via a mesh local area network electronic data representing energy management-related information by a RF communication-enabled memory storage device coupled to an electronic display device within a home area network. Electronic data representing telemetry information is likewise periodically received by the RF communication-enabled memory storage device from at least one RF communication-enabled energy management-related device within the home area network. The electronic data is converted to a common format by an application running at least in part on the memory storage device and displayed on a screen associated with the display device.

  • Patent number: 8334787
Abstract: Device, structure and method for retrofitting a utility meter such as a gas meter with a retrofit module or for new installations to conventional meters so that it can be read remotely and so that retrofit may be accomplished simply by unskilled workers and without damage or alteration of meter. The method for retrofitting a meter of the type having shaft driven dial with dial index pointer and index cover involves removing the meter index cover to access the meter index dial pointer; attaching a magnet to the pointer so that it is carried in orbit around the pointer shaft to which the pointer is attached; and mounting a sensor to the meter adapted to sense the passage of the pointer-mounted magnet and to detect the orbit of index pointer; the attaching of the magnet and the mounting of the sensor being performed without removing the meter dial index assembly.

  • Patent number: 6471120
Abstract: The present bag-in-a-box package is of a three unit structure, having a top unit, a body unit and a bottom unit. The box has a pair of handles for ease in handling the box and a tear strip structure for opening the box. In a preferred mode the tear strip has a grip that is adjacent one of the handle apertures. The tear strip can be of any known structure such as a series of perforations or serrations, or a separate film, string or filament applied to the top panel. This makes the tear strip easier to grip and the box easier to open. The bag part of the structure will preserve the freshness of the contained product while the box will provide structural integrity and a means for easily handling the box.

  • Patent number: 6074704
Abstract: Sheets to be coated with water-based coating material, for example a primer and a low adhesion backsize, are supplied from a feeder (1), in end-to-end overlapping relationship, to a dual coater (3) in which the sheets are coated individually on both sides. A sheet inserter (2) is provided, upstream of the dual coater, to insert sheets from a second supply into the sheets from the feeder (1). The dual coated sheets are dried as individual sheets or as a pseudo-web of overlapped sheets, The sheets are then overlapped, unless previously overlapped, and the direction of overlap changed, if necessary, to provide the trailing edge of each sheet on top of the leading edge of each succeeding sheet. The overlapped sheets are conveyed through an adhesive transfer station (7) where stripes (236) of at least partially dried adhesive are coated onto the dual coated sheets from a transfer belt (71).
