  • Patent number: 8117747
Abstract: One or more connectors at one end of a wire bundle are passed through a polarized through-opening in a wall. The wire bundle is advanced to place a grommet having a substantially right angle curved bend, through and along which the wire bundle curves, immediately proximate the polarized through-opening on one side of the wall. One end of the grommet is inserted into and through the through-opening, and the grommet is advanced to pass its curved bend through the through-opening until the curved bend is disposed on the other side of the wall. Then a polarized groove in the grommet is seated in the polarized through-opening to locate a direction in which the portion of the wire bundle exiting the one end of the grommet extends from the grommet's curved bend.

  • Patent number: 7348491
Abstract: A truck has an occupant compartment (24), an engine compartment (20) forward of the occupant compartment, and a wiring harness (34) extending through a dash panel (26) separating the two compartments from each other. A grommet (46) is secured at a fixed location on a wire bundle (42) that passes through the grommet. The dash has a through-opening in which the grommet seats, and the engine compartment side of the grommet includes a bend (48) that curves generally downward and away from the dash to direct the bundle generally downward on the engine compartment side.

  • Patent number: 7273986
Abstract: A wiring harness grommet (46) composed of first and second grommet halves (54, 56) cooperatively forming a walled through-passage (48) for a wire bundle of a wiring harness. Respective walled cavity halves (58, 60) are telescopically fit together for capturing the wire bundle between respective mutually confronting throats in the cavity halves. An annular void circumferentially surrounds the bundle and is filled with a filler (S) after the two halves have been fit together onto the bundle.

  • Patent number: 6810982
Abstract: A control for raising and lowering a lift axle (16) on a motor vehicle (10) having an ignition switch (106) for turning the motor on and off. The control has a circuit (32) that is fed through the ignition switch when the ignition switch is on but not when the ignition switch is off and that has a first switch device (102F) that requires actuation to enable the lift axle to be lowered and a second switch device (94D) that, once the first switch device has been actuated to enable the lift axle to be lowered, is effective upon being actuated to cause the lift axle to be lowered. Placement of the vehicle transmission in reverse automatically raises the lift axle if it has been lowered.

Abstract: A control for raising and lowering a lift axle (16) on a motor vehicle (10) having any ignition switch (106) for turning the motor on and off.
