Patent number: 11966629Abstract: A distributed data storage system can be configured with a host connected to a first device and an initialization module that performs a default initialization procedure on the first device in response to detecting the first device has an unknown manufacturing origin. Conducting the default initialization procedure may allow the first device to service data access requests from the host. In response to the connection of a second device to the host and initialization module, a manufacturing origin of the second device is identified with the initialization module before the initialization module customizes the default initialization procedure to a custom procedure that is executed to allow the second device to satisfy a background operation prescribed by the initialization module.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2022Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Assignee: Seagate Technology LLCInventors: Hemant Vitthalrao Mane, Jason Matthew Feist, Praveen Viraraghavan, Robert W. Dixon, Marc Timothy Jones, Steven Williams

Patent number: 11954505Abstract: A data storage system may connect a host to a device and a hardware module that are utilized to satisfy at least one host-generated data access request to the device. A portion of the device is set as dormant by the hardware module prior to identifying an origin of the device with the hardware module during the satisfaction of the at least one host-generated data access request. In response to the identified origin, the previously dormant portion of the device is activated and subsequently utilized to execute a task assigned by the hardware module.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2022Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: Seagate Technology LLCInventors: Hemant Vitthalrao Mane, Jason Matthew Feist, Praveen Viraraghavan, Robert W. Patent number: 11170173Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for improving the understanding of chat transcript data. Chat transcripts are analyzed to classify the utterances into intents and identify products discussed in the chat transcripts. The data of the chat transcripts are divided into categories of utterances associated with products and intents by applying tags to the chat transcripts. The categories of utterances associated with products and intents are then clustered into clusters based on sentence similarity. Once the utterances are grouped, a representative utterance is extracted from a cluster, where the representative utterance is an utterance that has the highest semantic similarity to the utterances in the cluster. In this manner, users will be provided a more accurate guide as to the underlying meaning of the chat transcript data thereby improving the understanding of the chat transcript data more efficiently and accurately than current chat transcript analysis tools.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2019Date of Patent: November 9, 2021Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Jennifer A. Mallette, Steven W. Jones, Vivek Salve, Jia Liu

Patent number: 7884124Abstract: This invention provides novel inhibitors of the enzyme D-amino acid oxidase as well as pharmaceutical compositions including the compounds of the invention. The invention also provides methods for the treatment and prevention of neurological disorders, such as neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases, as well as pain, ataxia and convulsion. The compounds of the invention have the general structure: wherein A is NH or S. Q is a member selected from CR1 and N. X and Y are members independently selected from O, S, CR2, N and NH. R1, R2 and R4 are members independently selected from H and F, provided that at least one member selected from R1, R2 and R4 is F. R6 is a member selected from O?X+ and OH, wherein X+ is a positive ion, which is a member selected from inorganic positive ions and organic positive ions.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 2007Date of Patent: February 8, 2011Assignee: Sepracor Inc.Inventors: Michele L. Publication number: 20010039818Abstract: A pad lock mechanism is described having a body portion and a latch which cooperate to lock and unlock the device. The body portion has at least one body core and a biasing element disposed within the body core for biasing or displacing the latch a predetermined depth therein. The body core includes a locking mechanism and at least two channels for insertably receiving a latch. The lock mechanism is unlocked via a multipurpose key element which is configured to operate via a single handcuff key which alleviates worry associated with trying to find a single key from a ring having numerous keys thereon. The lock mechanism utilizes a simple T-shaped structure which forms a locking arrangement via single and dual recess latch configurations. The lock is made from a durable metal material which is impervious to rust and corrosion.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 9, 2001Publication date: November 15, 2001Inventors: Steven W. Jones, Vince J. Patent number: 4782468Abstract: A power failure scheme for a gaming device in which, upon the detection of a failure of the line power, particular processing operations are completed before power is completely lost. A regulated D.C. power supply coupled to the line power generates an interrupt having the highest priority upon detecting a failure of the line power. The main processor of the gaming device is responsive to a power fail interrupt to complete any access to a safe memory which may have been on-going at the time the interrupt was generated or to complete any state transition which was on-going at the time the interrupt was generated.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1986Date of Patent: November 1, 1988Assignee: Bally Manufacturing CorporationInventors: Steven W.
