Abstract: A system and method provide a web-based infomediary for dissemination of intellectual property transfer information among multiple users via a global computer network such as the World Wide Web. The system and method can be used to provide network users with information to facilitate transfer of intellectual property rights by assignment or license. Also, the system and method can be configured to collect bids and offers from parties seeking to acquire rights, or conduct a web-based auction. In this manner, the system and method provide a web-based infomediary in the sense that they facilitate person-to-person or business-to-business online exchanges that leverage the Internet to unite buyers and sellers into a single, efficient virtual marketplace that provides a concentration of pertinent information.

Abstract: An improved computerized method and system for the payment of patent and trademark fees is disclosed. The patent or trademark fee for a client of a firm is charged against an account maintained by an organization separate from the firm. A charge issued at a workstation at the firm is delivered to a patent or patent and trademark agency, or a foreign associate firm, where it is cashed against an account maintained by the separate organization. The firm bills the client for the fee, along with a service charge, while the separate organization bills the firm for the fee and the service charge. Payment from the client to the firm for the fee and service charge is then sent to the separate organization to cover the firm's bill from the separate organization. Recirculating retainers, pre-billing, and other aspects of methods and systems are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system, apparatus, and method for annuity processing. In some embodiments, an annuity processing module is used in conjunction with an internet-based patent- and trademark-application management system. This annuity-processing module reflects a software implementation of various business rules or methods associated with paying the annuity due on a patent. These rules are, in some embodiments, derived from various laws relating to the payment of annuities. In some embodiments, these rules are provided to a workflow engine via a DTD or XML schema. The workflow engine manages the execution of the various business rules and states associated with this execution. These rules, including the decision to make a payment, can be manually executed or automatically executed by a member of an organization implementing the annuity payment module as a part of a larger system.

Abstract: A system that utilizes peer influences to help advertisers to reach target audiences. This system used peer recommendations through Widgets and comments to influence consumer behavior. This is a system for placing advertising on Influencer websites or pages includes determining the audience of the Influencer and setting tags to characterize the audience. An advertiser chooses tags to characterize an advertising campaign or offer and the system determines which of the influences provide matches or partial matches to the advertising campaigns or offers. Influencers pick which campaigns they wish to offer to their audience and install a Widget on their website or page(s) that is used to display ads and process click-throughs. Influencers are rewarded with payments or reward incentives for placing the campaigns or offers and/or if the campaigns are successful. A web system is configured to provide the necessary functions to support the ad placement and rewards process.
