Abstract: A lightweight, freestanding bicycle stand of sturdy construction composed of a plurality of substantially identical modular units. Each modular unit has at least one rectangular-shaped wheel receptacle and the units are releasably joined together by a common threaded tension member and associated threaded locking members. The modularity permits cost-effective manufacturing and has the added advantage of allowing users to customize modules to create a bicycle stand having a capacity for any number of bicycles desired. In addition, because the modular units are joined together by a common threaded tension member, upon loosening the locking members the modules may be rotated about the common axis defined by the tension member into a substantially flat configuration, thereby permitting easy stacking, transportation and storage.

Abstract: A wall-mountable storage rack for a bicycle or the like that can be collapsed into a folded-down compact state. The rack consists of three hingedly-connected portions, i.e., a shelf portion, a wall mount portion and a brace portion. Hinges respectively connect the wall mount portion to the shelf portion, and the brace portion to the shelf portion. The rack is adapted to support a bicycle horizontally by its top tube on a cradle formed as an extension of the shelf portion so that the bicycle wheels are held off the ground and free to rotate. With the bicycle so supported, minor maintenance may be performed on it with the rack thereby serving a secondary function as a maintenance stand.

Abstract: An exercise machine having a frame supporting a seat in an off-the-floor position. A pair of arm levers are mounted on the frame and provide resistance to movement in two directions, with the resistance to pushing from rest positions being less than the resistance to pulling to return the arms to the rest positions. The machine has a pair of leg levers wherein resistance to movement in a pushing direction is greater than in a pulling direction. The resistance to movement of the exercising levers is provided by friction mechanisms and springs, with the frictional force being greater than the spring force. The friction mechanisms offer the same resistance in either direction of movement, but the springs aid movement of the arm levers in push, when returning them to rest positions, while aiding the foot levers in a pulling direction. The arm levers have grips rearwardly inclined from the main portions thereof for better in-line application of force by the user.
