  • Patent number: 8789232
Abstract: A personal hygiene device is provided to assist a user to wipe him or herself, another, or an area of the home. The device contains a gripping head constructed of a flexible material and contains a gripping element, which may hold a wipe within it. The device also contains a rigid housing, and a pump at the opposite end of the gripping head, such that upon actuation of the pump increased fluid pressure inside the gripping head opens the internal grips to an extent that any wipe held therein will be released. In an embodiment of the invention, the housing contains a hinge so the unit may be folded for storage, or extended and locked in place for use.

  • Publication number: 20140114551
Abstract: A diagnostic system for a vehicle is disclosed. A first difference module generates a first difference based on a first pressure measured at a first secondary air injection (SAI) valve and a previous value of the first pressure. A first summer module generates a first accumulated difference based on a sum of values of the first difference generated during a predetermined period. A second difference module generates a second difference based on a second pressure measured at a second SAI valve and a previous value of the second pressure. A second summer module generates a second accumulated difference based on a sum of values of the second difference generated during the predetermined period. A fault indication module selectively indicates that a fault is present downstream of one of the first and second SAI valves based on the first and second accumulated differences.

  • Patent number: 8577645
Abstract: An air/fuel imbalance (AFIM) diagnostic system comprises a first module, an imbalance determination module, and an imbalance diagnostic module. The first module outputs imbalance data samples based on an oxygen signal provided by an oxygen sensor measuring oxygen in exhaust expelled from cylinders of a cylinder bank. The imbalance determination module determines an AFIM value based on the imbalance data samples. The imbalance diagnostic module selectively diagnoses an AFIM in the cylinder bank based on the AFIM value.

  • Publication number: 20130267659
Abstract: Disclosed herein are monofunctional benzoxazine compounds having at least one electron-withdrawing group. The monofunctional benzoxazine compounds may be combined with one or more multifunctional benzoxazine compounds to form a unique benzoxazine blend. This benzoxazine blend may be combined with additional components such as catalysts and toughening agents to form a curable resin composition suitable for forming resinous films or composite materials. The presence of monofunctional benzoxazine improves the processability of the benzoxazine-based resin composition by reducing the viscosity of the resin composition, and results in improved tack and drape in the films and composite materials formed from the composition without the loss of modulus in the cured resin.

  • Publication number: 20130186065
Abstract: A system for a vehicle includes a change determination module, a sulfur determination module, and a final equivalence ratio (EQR) module. The change determination module estimates a change in an amount of sulfur within a catalyst of an exhaust system of the vehicle. The sulfur determination module estimates the amount of sulfur within the catalyst based on the change. The final EQR module selectively adjusts fueling of an engine based on the amount of sulfur.

  • Publication number: 20130060449
Abstract: Fueling to one cylinder of an engine is selectively adjusted based on a correction associated with the cylinder. An instability module increments a counter value when the correction is equal to one of a first predetermined value and a second predetermined value and was previously equal to the other one of the first and second predetermined values. The instability module selectively generates a first indicator based on the counter value. A variance of imbalance values can be determined based on samples of an exhaust gas oxygen signal. Two variances are determined: one variance with adjustment based on the correction, one without adjustment based on the correction. A variance checking module selectively generates a second indicator based on the first and second variances. A re-synchronization module re-synchronizes the imbalance values with the cylinders, respectively, in response to generation of the first indicator and/or the second indicator.

  • Publication number: 20120067373
Abstract: The present invention is in the field of automatic dishwashing detergent compositions, as well as methods of making and using same. In particular, it relates to an automatic dishwashing detergent composition comprising a new protease. The automatic dishwashing detergent composition provides improved cleaning and finishing. In particular the composition of the invention provides better proteinaceous removal at the same level of other proteases available in the market. This also alternatively allows for the use of a lower level of the protease of the invention and therefore a more cost effective composition.

  • Patent number: 8022691
Abstract: A device for providing displacement information includes a housing holding a displacement sensor. The displacement sensor includes a coil and a captive core. An electrical measurement of the coil provides information about displacement of the core. The coil has an axis extending in a first direction, wherein the housing has a minimum outside dimension that is less than 3.00 mm when measured perpendicular to that first direction. The housing has an inner surface having a housing inside dimension. The housing is for holding a displacement sensor and a guidance mechanism. The displacement sensor includes a coil and a captive core having a core outside dimension. The guidance mechanism includes a first part and a second part for guiding the core. The first part includes a bearing connected to the housing. The bearing has an axial hole having a hole dimension about equal to the core outside dimension. The core slidably extends through this axial hole.
