Abstract: Blood flow into vascular tissue is filtered in a manner that can also be useful for trapping particulates while allowing the flow of blood. Consistent with one or more embodiments, a filter apparatus includes a filter, an outer delivery sheath such as a catheter, and one or more shafts that are operable to manipulate the shape of the filter for positioning within vascular tissue. The filter conforms to various types of vascular tissue, and filters blood flow passing through openings in the vascular tissue. In some implementations, the filter is used to trap particulates that have been collected on the filter, and collapses to trap and draw the particulates into the outer delivery sheath.

Abstract: A method for providing a page countdown for a replaceable unit of an image forming device according to one embodiment includes calculating a number of pages remaining until the replaceable unit will reach the end of its life. The calculated number of pages remaining until the replaceable unit will reach the end of life is displayed on a display screen. After the calculated number of pages remaining is displayed, the displayed number of pages remaining is decreased in response to printing of pages by the image forming device, the number of pages remaining is recalculated and a discrepancy between the displayed number of pages remaining and the recalculated number of pages remaining is tracked. If the discrepancy exceeds a predetermined error threshold, the recalculated number of pages remaining is displayed and the displayed number of pages remaining continues to be decreased from the displayed recalculated number of pages remaining.

Abstract: A system for adjusting machine parameters based on a skill level of an operator comprises a personal area network (PAN)-compatible electronic control module (ECM) located on a machine. The system also includes a PAN-compatible communication device associated with an operator of the machine. The PAN-compatible communication device is configured to receive information indicative of the skill level of the operator. The PAN-compatible communication device is also configured to establish a wireless communication link with the PAN-compatible ECM and transmit the information indicative of the skill level of the operator to the PAN-compatible ECM. The PAN-compatible ECM is configured to adjust an operational aspect of the machine based on the information indicative of the skill level of the operator of the machine.

Abstract: An electronic audio device for use with at least one earpiece, the earpiece having a microphone and a speaker located therein includes circuitry coupled to the microphone and speaker and a processor to evaluate a seal quality of the earpiece to a user's ear based on seal quality measurements made while driving or exciting a signal into the speaker located in the earpiece and then to adjust the circuitry operatively coupled to the microphone and speaker according to the evaluated seal quality. Abstract: The present disclosure improves upon existing systems and methods by providing a tool for managing processing resources. For instance, the presently described tool may be used to time replacement, plan for uplifts, budget for uplifts/decommissioning of hardware, and/or maintain a plurality of servers. This tool may lead to increased satisfaction, uptime, and a reduction of unexpected costs. The system may include initiating collection of variables to compile a prioritized list of servers, executing, a calculation application for determining a prioritized list of servers' end of life targets based on both technical and business parameters based on the entered variables, and prioritizing uplifts of the servers based on the technical and the business parameters.

The rod can pass between the winding supports. The first winding can be around a first side of one of the winding supports. The second winding can be on a second side of the other winding supports. The magnet can be mounted to the rod. The magnet can be within the orifices.

Abstract: Methods and devices for encoding and decoding data using transform domain filtering are described. The encoder determines a set of transform domain filter coefficients to be applied to a transform domain prediction. The filtering may, in some cases, also apply to transform domain reconstructions. Rate-distortion optimization may be used to determine the optimal filter coefficients on a frame-basis, coding-unit-basis, or other basis. Multiple filters may be developed and communicated from the encoder to the decoder for different combinations of transform block size, coding mode, prediction mode, and texture type. In other cases, the filtering is applied in the pixel-domain to a pixel-domain prediction or a pixel-domain reconstruction of a block of samples.

Abstract: A retractable connector assembly for establishing an electrical connection to a power bus bar from an electrical device is disclosed. The retractable connector assembly includes a frame plate and a sled. The sled has a rack and a connector assembly having an electrical contact. The sled has an extended position and a retracted position relative to the frame plate. A spur gear is mounted on the frame plate. The spur gear engages the rack to move the sled between the retracted position and the extended position when the spur gear is rotated. The electrical contact creates an electrical connection with the power bus bar when the sled is in the extended position but not in the retracted position. Safety interlocks and indicia can be provided for the connector assembly.
