  • Patent number: 8308592
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a treadmill belt with foamed cushion layer and method of making same. In one embodiment, the treadmill belt includes a fabric base layer and a foamed cushion layer foamed on and integral with the fabric base layer. The foamed cushion layer includes a thermoplastic composition and has a Shore A hardness of about 20 to about 80. In one example, the first foamed cushion layer is from about 0.05 inches to about 0.35 inches thick. The thermoplastic composition, prior to being foamed, includes about 1 part to about 5 parts of a foaming agent, e.g., a chemical foaming agent, based on 100 parts thermoplastic material, e.g., polyvinyl chloride. An outer wear layer is securely adhered on the foamed cushion layer to sandwich the foamed cushion layer between the fabric base layer and outer wear layer thereby defining the treadmill belt.

  • Publication number: 20120210809
Abstract: Wherein said machine rotors (2) rotate on their respective axis of rotation (3) generating power as each displace their respective displacement weights (5) by way of their respective displacement mechanisms (4, 12) from the inner bounds of the machine rotor (2) to the outer bounds of the machine rotor. As each displacement mechanism (4, 12) pass and aligns with another, each exchange their displacement weight (5) from the outer bounds of each to the inner bounds of the other resetting the displacement weights (5) to the inner bounds of each opposing and aligned displacement mechanism (4, 12) allowing displacement to repeat with the next synchronized rotation of the machine rotors (2). Each overlapping pair of displacement mechanisms (4, 12) will continue to displace and reset with each new rotation of the two parallel, overlapping, and synchronized machine rotors (2).

  • Publication number: 20120208660
Abstract: This invention presents a basketball training device which resembles a mannequin that defends against basketball players with a series of blocking motions. When proximity sensor 38 detects an approaching player, control unit 32 initiates waving of forearms 8, raising/lowering of upper arms 54, chopping motion of arms and torso raising/lowering. An audio circuit plays music or realistic background noises. When convex bottom of primary base 16 is placed on a floor, weight of ballast 36 and rechargeable batteries 30 allows the device to return to an upright position when tipped. A gyroscopic unit within control unit 32 can activate when the device tips to ensure return of the device to an upright position. Alternatively, the unit can be placed within secondary base 26, which features castors 34 that allow the unit to roll when stuck and facilitates placement on a basketball court.

  • Publication number: 20120180918
Abstract: A racing tire comprising a tread having a new tread thickness of no greater than about 0.375 inch. The tread defines a running surface that includes a first circumferential portion of a first rubber compound and a second circumferential portion of a second rubber compound situated adjacent one another. The first rubber compound has a greater stiffness than the second rubber compound so as to provide the tread with greater wear resistance along the first circumferential portion, and the second rubber compound provides the tread with greater traction along the second circumferential portion. The tread may be substantially free of a tread pattern. The second rubber compound may have a greater DIN abrasion value than the first rubber compound. The second rubber compound may have a higher tan delta at 100° C. and/or a higher J? traction value than the first rubber compound.
