  • Patent number: 5603321
Abstract: A measured magnetocardiography signal has a relatively small heart signal mixed with a large noise signal. To produce a heart signal having a reduced noise content, the times of occurrence of a time-series of isoelectric intervals of the measured signal is first determined and a time-series isoelectric artifact curve is formed from the measurements made at those times of occurrence. A time-series non-isoelectric artifact curve for other times is determined from this information. The time-series isoelectric and nonisoelectric artifact curve is subtracted from the measured magnetocardiography time-series signal to yield a time-series heart amplitude signal having reduced noise and undistorted form.

  • Patent number: 4353139
Abstract: A protective cover entirely of soft, deformable, cushioning material such as high density, closed cell foam rubber or plastic is of elongated, hollow tubular configuration with an outer imperforate, closed end, a cylindrical side wall, and an inner open end so that it may be sleeved over a water spout projecting over a bathtub to cushion the user in case of accidental contact or fall. The bottom of the cover is closed except for a water discharge opening in the cylindrical side wall near the closed end, for the passage of water from the spout tip. The closed end is extra thick and shaped as an animal head to appeal to youngsters. The bottom of the cylindrical side wall is longitudinally split to permit expansion over a spout.

  • Patent number: 4122061
Abstract: Reinforced, impact modified thermoplastic polyester compositions are provided which comprise a poly(1,4-butylene terephthalate) resin, a poly(ethylene terephthalate) resin, a fibrous glass reinforcement alone or in combination with a mineral reinforcing filler and, as an impact modifier therefor, a polyolefin or olefin based copolymer resin. The polyolefinic impact modifier is easily dispersed in the compositions and provides significantly improved impact strength in surprisingly small amounts, in comparison with corresponding compositions which are unmodified.
