  • Patent number: 11867139
Abstract: A modular damper plug forming a multi-volume acoustic resonator in an acoustic liner of a rocket engine is provided. In one aspect, the damper plug includes a main body including a top surface spaced from a bottom surface by a first height, a left surface spaced from a right surface by a width, and an exterior surface spaced from an interior surface by a length. A chamber within the main body extends along a part of the height, a part of the width, and a part of the length, and communicates with the top surface through an opening. The chamber also communicates with the interior surface through one or more ducts. The main body is sized and shaped to be received in any one of a plurality of cavities in the acoustic liner. The chamber includes an upstream volume of the acoustic resonator, and the one or more ducts communicate with a downstream volume of the acoustic resonator when the damper plug is received in any one of the plurality of cavities.

  • Patent number: 11808183
Abstract: A system is provided. The system includes a reciprocating engine configured to consume oil at or less than 0.25 g/kw-hr and to use makeup oil. The reciprocating engine includes an engine oil sump. The system is configured to maintain an oil volume in the reciprocating engine during operation so that a residence time of oil in the reciprocating engine is at or less than 1000 hours.

  • Publication number: 20200166526
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for diagnosing and/or treating Alzheimer's Disease (AD) by detecting in a human sample the levels of one or more of the metabolites galactose, imidazole acetone, creatinine, and 5-aminopentanoate; diagnosing the patient with AD when one or more of the metabolites galactose, imidazole acetone, creatinine, and 5-aminopentanoate in the sample is at a different level than a statistically validated threshold for the respective metabolite. In some embodiments, the AD is diagnosed and the patient is treated for AD.

  • Publication number: 20100146807
Abstract: A vapor atmosphere spray dryer can include a closed-loop circuit having a dryer, a bag house filter system, a fan, and a heater system which are fluidly connected together for circulating a mass of superheated vapor therethrough. A centrifugal atomizer is disposed within the dryer. A feed system delivers a supply of feed slurry to the centrifugal atomizer which discharges a supply of atomized feed slurry in the dryer for combination with the circulated mass of superheated vapor within the dryer. The closed loop circuit is constructed such that the circulated mass of superheated vapor has an operating pressure of at least 1 psi which is generated by the evaporation of the fluid in the atomized feed slurry in the dryer resulting from the combination of the supply of atomized feed slurry and the circulated mass of superheated vapor.

  • Publication number: 20040030591
Abstract: A first one of a network of computers implements a first one of disparate applications. A second one of the network of computers implements a second one of the applications. The first one of the computers outputs first data in response to implementation of the first one of the applications. The second one of the computers outputs second data in response to implementation of the second one of the applications. The first one of the computers is incapable of processing the second data by implementing the first one of the applications. The second one of the computers is incapable of processing the first data by implementing the second one of the applications. The system incorporates a third set of instructions, which is embedded into the first one of the applications.

  • Patent number: 4118790
Abstract: Data processing equipment suitable for recording details of manually connected telephone calls has a plurality of operator stations with keyboards and VDU's connected in groups to operator's control units which respond to keyed instructions to obtain data from peripheral units storing such data and for recording on magnetic tape cartridge the details of the calls. The magnetic tape cartridge recording units are duplicated and the data to be recorded in the two units, which are separately generated and should be the same, are compared with one another and their validity checked. If both data are valid, whether they differ or not, they are recorded. If only one set of data is valid only the valid data are recorded by both recorders. A marker signal may be recorded to indicate that the data recorded may be incorrect.
