Patent number: 10270725Abstract: A method and system for correlating events with social media is provided. The method includes retrieving from a social network, social network data associated with users of the social network. The social network data is associated with event data associated with a user of the users. Temporary actions associated with a social network account of the user are enabled and a notification is transmitted to a group of users. In response, confirmation data associated with enabling the temporary actions is received from the group of users and permanent actions associated with the temporary actions are enabled.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2018Date of Patent: April 23, 2019Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Rhonda L. Publication number: 20070225967Abstract: A system, method, and medium for cadence management of translated multi-speaker conversations including a demultiplexer for separating a multi-speaker audio source into time-related single-speaker audio tracks, each track containing first language audio snippets; and a pause relationship model generator and manager that determines the time relationships between the single-speaker snippets using pause markers to denote beginnings and endings of mutual silence pauses, collects a translated language audio track for each of single-speaker track, transforms the original pause relationship model of the snippets, and controls a multiplexer to producing a multi-speaker audio output including the translated snippets in a manner such that they are related in time according to the transformed pause relationship model.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 23, 2006Publication date: September 27, 2007Inventors: Rhonda Childress, Stewart Hyman, David Kumhyr, Stephen Watt

Publication number: 20070225973Abstract: A system, method, and software-encoded computer readable medium which receives an electronic streaming information resource, such as a multi-party audio conversation, determines demarcations between collective audio chunks (CAC) within the resource by determining when universal pauses (UP) exist across all party contributions; and submits the collective audio chunks in a substantially first-found, first-submitted order to a translation system. The collective audio chunks are then translated in real time, and the translated collective audio chunks are loaded into a real-time streaming buffer for delivery to one or more destinations.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2006Publication date: September 27, 2007Inventors: Rhonda Childress, Stewart Hyman, David Kumhyr, Stephen Watt

Publication number: 20050262554Abstract: Various aspects of the invention provide a method, apparatus, and software for selecting interconnectivity rules for a computer network environment and visualization on a display of a data processing system interconnectivity rules in an auto provisioning environment, including: selecting a network environment specification having characteristics describing the environment, the characteristics including: number of network security tiers, firewalls, and other network constraints; displaying a graphical representation of the selected network environment, including security tiers, and proposed firewalls, to a user on the display; selecting network objects for the selected network environment, the network objects being selected from a group of objects including: operating systems and other software applications having predefined or configurable characteristics including interconnectivity rules, and firewall rules; populating the displayed network environment with the selected objects; determining network interconnType: ApplicationFiled: May 25, 2004Publication date: November 24, 2005Applicant: International Business MachinesInventors: Patrick Brooks, Andrew Greff, Stewart Hyman, Artur Keizner

Publication number: 20050149610Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product are described for managing the provisioning of resources in a data processing system. There are different types of resources. Each resource is one of these types. Multiple provisioning states are defined for each type of resource. Relationships are defined among the provisioning states. The relationships describe valid transitions from one state to another. Workflows of one or more tasks are defined, varying to the resource implementation specifications, that are associated with each one of the valid transitions between states. When a resource is to transition from a current state, the relationships among states are used to determine a valid next state. The workflow specific to the resource specification and associated with this transition from the current state to the determined next state is then executed in order to transition to the next state.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 2, 2004Publication date: July 7, 2005Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Patrick Brooks, Rhonda Childress, Liana Fong, Walter Grom, Stewart Hyman, Michael Kalantar, Steve Weinberger

Publication number: 20050071422Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are disclosed for providing a single automation tool adapter for use with multiple different automation tools. Multiple different clients are monitored for automation requests. An automation request that is to be executed within one of the automation tools is received from one of the clients in an original format. A second format that is required by the automation tool is determined. The automation request is converted from the original format to the second format. The automation request is then submitted in the second format to the automation tool for processing. Automation requests are submitted to an automation tool in a format that is required by the automation tool.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2003Publication date: March 31, 2005Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Bruce Booth, Rhonda Childress, Stewart Hyman, Karry Keown
