  • Patent number: 6273663
Abstract: An apparatus for accumulating a stack of bags having wicket receiving holes comprises a paddle wheel conveyor for placing bags, a motorized stacker wheel adjacent the paddle wheel conveyor to receive the placed bags from the paddle wheel, a plurality of stacker bar units each rotatably mounted to the stacker wheel and a pick up head operatively positioned adjacent said plurality of stacker bar units for receiving the stack of bags from one of the stacker bar units. The pick up head has two tubes that receive and maintain alignment of the bags, a restraining jaw for restraining the stack of bags on the tubes and a pusher plate for pushing the stack of bags off the two tubes.

    Assignee: Huntsman Packaging Corporation
Inventors: Gordon F. Pickering, Richard E. Partch, Stewart L. Fluent, Colin R. Hart
  • Patent number: 5911553
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically removing bags from a supply conveyor and stacking a predetermined number of bags upon raised pins. The stacks are then placed on a stack transfer assembly that is then moved into a transfer station wherein the stacks are placed on wickets. An endless accumulator conveyor is arranged to deliver the wickets into the transfer station in timed relation with the movement of the transfer assembly between stations.

  • Patent number: 5024045
Abstract: A vinyl siding panel package system is disclosed that prefolds corrugated paper blanks and then forms panel containers that are packed with a pre-specified number of panels. The panel packer receives a plurality of panels from a panel extrusion operator, re-orients panels into desired combinations and packs each combination, up to the limit, in a waiting container. The loaded container is sent to a container closing operation whereby the lid is sealed around the container body, and the container is weighed. A palletizer transports a loaded container from the closer to a waiting pallet.

  • Patent number: 4223674
Abstract: An implant gun for depositing pellets or the like subcutaneously. The gun includes a hollow needle through which a number of pellets are dispensed from a cartridge that is positioned either inside the needle or in an ante-chamber. The action of the gun is such that the pellets are gently deposited in the tissue as the needle is withdrawn from the cavity formed in the tissue at the time the needle was inserted. This technique practically eliminates any breaking of the fragile pellets and reduces the trauma of their insertion into the tissue. The implant gun also includes a unique ram activating mechanism that frees one of the hands of the operator so that the implanting procedure can be conducted without assistance. The implant gun is also easily adapted for use in implanting single items other than pellets, such as identification tags for animals.
